Disappointed with app shutdown
The app gave me lots of confidence about my health. Even though I’m vaccinated it was useful to see small spikes after social events. I hope the company offers something similar for multiple conditions in future.

App has picked up several infections or bouts of not feeling well, but all my scores were 0 normal for a really bad case of influenza followed by covid. Was going to upgrade but given it didn’t pick these up having second thoughts. Happy to provide you any further details oe feedback directly as being a Kiwi too I am keen this this is successful!!
I had high hopes for this app. Knowing that Covid is circulating in the community I expected to catch it eventually, which I did recently. This app didn’t give me any warning at all - it claimed I was perfectly healthy throughout the pre-sickness and even as I stayed at home sick for days - I was always perfectly healthy. I even trialled the paid version to see if the advanced algorithm would be more accurate - it made no difference. Perhaps this app is designed just for the unvaccinated who will likely have much worse symptoms. If so, the developers should make that clear before you download it. Ultimately, because I put my trust in this app I believed I wasn’t getting sick, even though I was feeling incredibly tired for days leading up to my diagnosis. It’s better to trust your own instincts instead of an algorithm which clearly doesn’t work.
I take my watch off during the day sometimes and it presents problems resuming feeds to Elam.
Great app, it really does tell you when something is not quite right. A couple of times I have been feeling unwell, have checked the app and sure enough the levels are spiking. A couple of possible improvements. 1. It would be great if the paid version offered more frequent updates. Ie would give me a reading every 30 mins instead of every 4 hours. 2. It would be great to get some more information about why a score was high. Eg I just got a score of 24, what does that actually mean? How could I explain it to a doctor if I wasn’t feeling well?
Consistently failing to sync with a simple set up - iPhone and Apple Watch. Giving it one last chance to see if recent updates have made any difference. Disappointed in what is otherwise a very clever idea.
It often says no health data - even when wearing the watch. Help says leave it connected and open in the tray… need a different message for iPhone or Ëlarm wants the app open all the time - not a useful expectation. Don’t know what the Pro version gives but the free version does not tempt to pay for pro.
Good concept if it could maintain connection to data. Will work for a week or so then gives “waiting for data” message. Restarting the app or resetting permissions sometimes kicks it back into life again for a few days but not always.
Seems to update automatically, logging me out so the app stops reading data until I log in again?
I installed elarm after hearing about it on RNZ. It’s a non-intrusive way to keep an eye on one’s temperature and vital signs. I like it that it sends out automated reports. It has tracked a few instances when my temperature has been slightly elevated, which I wouldn’t have known about, otherwise. If you’re a person who likes to track what your own body is telling you, then I think you’ll like this, even if the COVID tracking side of things is it’s main purpose. Obviously, it would be *extremely* useful if you had contact with someone who had COVID-19. I use an iPhone.
