I heard about this app from a book on Jungian dream analysis. I tried out the free version and almost immediately upgraded to the paid version. So worth it. I’m excited to record my dreams and explore the analyses. I’ve been focusing on the AI and Jungian analyses. They’ve been so rich and helpful. It truly is one of my favorite apps ever.
In my dream…
I've used several different dream journal apps, and each has had its pros and cons. Elsewhere stood out to me because of its functionality and the use of research-backed techniques. The fact that the Elsewhere AI uses “If this were my dream...” (Taylor, 1983) and also seems to utilize the Hall/Van De Castle Content Analysis system is a big win! None of this is surprising, knowing that Bulkeley is involved in the endeavor, but it is reassuring that the app should stay grounded in Dream studies research and technique.
Brilliant
This app is by far the best way to keep track of dreams as well as interpret them! I use this to help with my spiritual dream work, as the interpretations help give me insights to what’s going on in my subconscious. I look forward to logging my dreams when I wake up in the morning & tell all of my friends about it! Highly recommend to anyone even remotely interested in dreams & dream work💯🙌💜
This features voice to text dictation
This app has a voice to dictation feature. Because I am in Jungian analysis I understand that my voice messages are archaic and garbled when I am entering my dream into the app. This enhances my Freudian knowledge because I am aware that I am having a slip of the tongue.
So as the day progresses I read back and edit, It’s frustrating and time consuming but so worth it if you are in need of analysis because it enhances the experience.
Impressive App
Incredible and eerily insightful! I’ve shared this with many friends and they love using it too.
My Jungian life
Heard Kelly on the podcast This Jungian Life and was so impressed -
Have kept dreams since college. In the pandemic I got serious about DreamTending and other modalities --
This app looks fun. Honored to be at the beginning.
I have an international dream circle and am hoping we will all participate and share our impressions together.
I do believe a dream is not complete till shared and honored and, if possible, understood as psyche wishes.
Hope it will continue to develop
Really interesting and I'm happy to be part of this endeavor in its early stages. I hope it will continue to improve as suggestions come in. I would like to see a search function for the symbols icons (with synonyms for each icon) as now I have to use words in my description that I think will fit the collection.
Majorly revitalized my dream journaling!
I’ve been a lifelong vivid dreamer with usually multiple dreams recalled most nights. Writing them longhand can take an hour or more; hence my interest in digital dream journaling apps, to try to save some time. I’ve tried many of these over the years but none of them stuck for a variety of reasons, most typically not having features that I would find helpful.
Enter the Elsewhere app — it began, for me, where all the other apps I’ve tried left off, filling the functional gaps that I used to find frustrating, specifically from an organizational and aesthetic standpoint. But then there was the beautiful “icing” on the app cake, notably the AI interpretation of dreams (really spot on in a lot of instances, and always useful in providing some additional avenues from which to consider my dreams) and the AI-generated artwork for each dream (making it a lot easier to find recorded dreams than trying to remember a dream title). And then, the “cherry” on top of this cake has turned out to be the developers themselves, whom I’ve personally found to be amazingly responsive and helpful on the dedicated Discord channel.
Cheers, Elsewhere developers, for creating this ever-evolving, inspiring app! Because of it, I’m back to recording dreams much more frequently and even deepening my associated dream work with them, taking my dream-related experiences to new levels.
Loving this Dream App
I love that I can quickly record my dreams when I wake up on the app. It keeps track of symbolism from me dream and the AI offers insights to the dream on a whole, plus symbolism, dream characters, etc. It’s interesting to see my dream landscape develop over time. The app has all of the features I used to use myself when tracking and working to
Interpret my dreams. I highly recommend the app.
