EMA App FAQ
Is EMA App free?
Yes, EMA App is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is EMA App legit?
🤔 The EMA App app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The version of about a year ago was excellent. Just what was needed, seamless navigation between pages, modules, data. Nothing to complain about. Right on spot. Then came the update with the new welcome screen and the user experience has worsened. I would not write a review if the few bugs would have been addressed in the subsequent updates. The instant power gauge was replaced by a power flow diagram that is still messy on ipad for the energy part of it. The data page must be reloaded as no data are displayed in first instance.... Overall the user experience has worsened since those updates... a few homework's to bring it back to where it was would be welcome.
Solid!
My app has always worked well and provided the info I need to track my system
New App
I wasn’t noticed that I had to download the new app. I called customer support. I was told by first person I talked to that they no longer monitor my system. When I called back the person I talked to said she needed to contact IT. PureLight needs to train their people better. This is the first time I have had a problem. We have had our system for several years. I am very disappointed in customer service.
I am very disappointed in that the referral for referring a friend was removed. Also the old app had a link where you can copy and post on social media NOT on the new app. The old app showed how many trees you were saving new app doesn’t have this. The old app you could send a message when you panels were not being monitored. New app no messaging system. They need to put these back.
When I have used the system for a referral I knew it was being taken care of. In the new system and the person calls in. I won’t get credit for the referral. When people call in the I have had the referral buried in the paperwork and someone has to go and find it.
Good but not great.
I like that this app allows you to see information such as how much you’re currently producing, energy being produced by each panel, and a snapshot of previous months. What I would like to see is how much of the power I’m consuming as well as exporting. This is very important information that should be provided to the customer. At this point, I don’t know how much I’m exporting and have to rely on the power company to tell me. How do I know if I’m being shortchanged? Wish they would upgrade this app to show those variables.
Useful for checking module performance.
I would love a couple things. I would love to see 13 months instead of 12 months at a time. I really enjoy seeing how this month compares to a year ago - yeah, I’m nerdy like that. To do this, I need to drop the menu to show 1 month ago, and then it will show the last 12 months minus one. E.g. it is March 2024 currently. To show LAST March, 2023, I need to select February 2024 to see March 2023 in the listings. I’d love to see last March and THIS March at the same time. Would be great to have an “export as CSV” the last 12 months from the app, so I can export the data on my mobile device. I never get on my actual PC for this stuff anymore.
Not able to view
I have an older phone. I no longer can see any benefits of my installing the solar. You’re upgrades have locked me out🙁
Used to work
Well, folks, I used to check on our solar output all the time. In October 2022, the app and the website stopped collecting data. I have done the unplugging, waiting, replugging when it is sunny thing several times. That takes some timing these days on the Oregon coast. I haven’t had any info available to me in months. I contacted the company and followed their directions. Nothing. The app is just taking up space on my desktop. Disappointing.
Works good
I have all the sections on here like the module, data etc but not fully sure how to understand it I’m generating more power then I’m using daily. Anyone know the right way to read and understand this to explain please?
Looking back
This app has been great. I look at it often and can see how my system is doing and if the rate repair needs to be done. As I look back at past power generation, it would be nice to have the month and year sections under data go back based on what time frame you are looking at. For example, it is January 29th. To see what I generated last January I have to go back 30 days on the month data info to see last year. If in the month section it would go back a full month if you tap the left arrow I could go back quickly rather than 30 taps and then forward 30 taps to get back to today. Or, have the month section with 13 months instead of 12. Just some thoughts on how one person uses it. Great, reliable app.
Update Jan 2023
Just did the update and it won’t let me get past the Privacy and Terms of Agreement. Won’t let me click agree/disagree. Deleted the app and reinstalled and will not let me click on anything. Was working fine before the update. For both apps.
