Examples of how the word can be used in a sentence must/should be included to be voted 5 star dictionary
So far only one word I couldn’t find. Other words have all been great. I was going through a complex passage from the Bible, and it was invaluable!
Very good for typing/translating
Very user unfriendly. Spoken example poor.
Swahili pronunciation by electronic vocal is poor.
I work in Nairobi and this app is perfect
I am glad to have a resource so thanks for that. However the app would be so much more useful if pronunciations for both languages were included, also if short phrases or even words with prefixes, tenses and subject markers could be translated.
This dictionary is great. But you need in some cases to know the root of the word and put that in then to be able to discern the full meaning once the prefix and in some cases the suffix is added back in.
It doesn't seem to use sentences like the Kenyan people do?
Not perfect but this is a well done job. I wouldn't say its poor. It's not entirely direct translation. To me it's an English dictionary n a Swahili word translator/not sentace translator. If look up e.g half loaf then I see nusu mkate then I will assume (if I don't know the meaning) that half = nusu, loaf = mkate.. 4 those looking 4 "perfect" sentence construction from English to Swahili the best way is take classes or ask Swahili-English speakers who know. I give it 3 stars coz it's not pure Swahili to some extend,,, some English words have also been included to in the Swahili list of translation if they r not the only English Swahili translation :/ makes it "sheng" might b understood it kenya n may b not in Tanzania. Unfotunately those who have a very good amount of Kiswahili sanifu/pure, don't have a very good knowledge of English n the reverse of that...so inadequate knowledge to produce a very good pure English-Swahili dictionary. this a great effort.
