EOS Remote Reviews

Why no cable tether option?

headswimmer on

This app is useful for WiFi control but can be clunky and picture transfers slow. I think adding the option of cable connection between app to camera would be brilliant and long over due. This should speed up transfer times and I would have thought camera battery life would last longer too as the WiFi wouldn’t need to be on. So please add support for cable connections!!!!

Functional, but not brilliant

So, this app has been marginally better than Camera Connect for me, as Camera Connect never managed to actually connect to my camera. However, I’ve been using it to bring photos into Lightroom Mobile for around a year, and I’ve just now noticed it’s been downsampling all the images and stripping out the EXIF data. (There is a setting to change this. I just never realized it was happening. Frustrating.) I have now obtained a card reader so I can avoid using the Canon apps altogether and would recommend this path to others. As a bonus, the card reader is much faster and has better import settings.

I have used this app for years and never had a problem but it’s now not allowing me to save photos to my iPhone

Can’t save photos “save failed “. Please don’t say ‘use the new app’ as it is less than useless (see the reviews). Please fix this app quickly.

Useless for 2012 Canon 7D

FACT: This app doesn’t work with cameras like mine which don’t have inbuilt WiFi.

Sadly not for Canon 80D

Just bought an IPad Pro 10.5, following the reviews of this app decided to download this app instead of the Canon Connect what I have been using on my IPhone 7+. Sadly, really disappointed to find that my 80D isn’t supported :(

A timer please

Spice Rods on

This app is great, runs on my 6d mk1 with no problems at all, perfect for those long bulb exposures and setting are ultra easy to change. My only problem is having to hold the button on the app down to run the exposure (although you do get a timer on the screen to show how long the shutter is open for) so a timer option would be the icing on the cake for this app

Timer

This is a great app and does what it says. Just needs a timer for time lapse and night photography. Other than that it's great.
