Can’t stop calls from coming in

Crazydup on

Use to use push to talk from bell, you could change yours status to unavailable wich block all incoming calls. You can’t do that with this app. So to solve this problem I keep installing and uninstall the app. Wonder who said ‘that’s it’s, this app is ready’ Please try your products before releasing it.

Works well for what it is for.

Operation is good on the app. Hoping for an audio/ Bluetooth update so that music or other audio on Bluetooth is not interrupted or ‘paused’. Does not work well with CarPlay.

ESChat with 2-way radio

sjd7aa on

Been using ESChat with our MOTOTRBO digital UHF radio system at work for about 4 years now. It was a bit tricky to set up the JPS Interop hardware bridge with our donor radios but once that was set, so were we. I set up 10 talk groups on ESChat (each with its own donor radio) and the performance and versatility of the system is excellent. In our warehousing system we use automation that at times needs maintenance and IT support; this was often hamstrung by having the equipment vendor talk to my electricians and machine operators via acoustically-challenged portable phones; it took ages to troubleshoot equipment issues. ESChat solved that. When we’ve had serious downtime issues I’ve had my machine operators and electricians (onsite) using their radios and talking to my controls engineer & IT support rep (offsite) and the OEM tech support rep (1000+ miles offsite) on ESChat working together on the problem. Worked like a dream. High quality sound and easy comms for everyone. And getting the non-users set up in ESChat took me 5 min on the admin portal once they downloaded the app. Fast and easy. We are able to link other sites together on common talk groups, all we need is to get them set up on donor radios and hardware. Even a simple 1-donor radio interface would allow multi-site shared communications with Motorola or non-Motorola hardware. Digital, analog, whatever. We set up this system ourselves after a stupidly long wait for Motorola to roll out a ROIP solution for our Mototrbo digital system. A few years after we opted for our own great DIY solution Motorola came out with theirs: capital costs were unjustifiable and the monthly user fee too high. The startup costs for us we’re a small fraction of what Motorola needed and the $5/month per user ESChat fee can’t be beat, for what you get. I’ve installed the app on 2 Sonim phones used in our Dept trucks and they are always on, with geo tracking forced on so we always know where our vans are. I’m in Canada and we had Bell show us their ROIP solution (Bell Push-To-Talk) and it was a joke. An expensive joke, as befits Bell. It can’t touch what we’ve done on our own with ESChat, a reasonably small up-front capital investment and a bit of fiddling and innovative learning at our end. Plus with our solution we are online no matter the mobile provider of our smartphone users (we couldn’t tie in a US or non-Bell user to Bell’s Push To Talk system). As of this writing (June 2021) I see that ESCha
