Unravelling the disease process, including the clinical and imaging features can be unnerving at best. We have sought to provide a solid foundation of imaging findings in this disease, its variable appearance and its mimickers in a clear and concise fashion.

Section 2 reviews normal imaging anatomy of both the sacroiliac joints and the spine
