I love this app! This is by far the most useful app out there if u want to learn Chinese characters. I can choose Cantonese or Mandarin for pronunciation...Mandarin being the the default and any other dialect for $1.99 or $2.99, I forgot but I purchased the Cantonese one. But it's well worth it! There isn't much apps out there that can help as much as this one. The pronunciation is not perfect but it's good enough for me. The best feature is the stroke order feature which is why I purchased this app from the start. You can choose the stroke speed, it's so useful for me since I am teaching my children Chinese characters myself. Thank u for such a wonderful app!

I'm a non-native Chinese student taking Chinese in college. I was using this app to extensively help me with stroke order. And now it doesn't work! I will change it to 5 stars if this is fixed and the user interface is made more friendly.

This app is jam packed with some really good features but the user interface is extremely convoluted and has no thought behind usability. Many of the features are hidden, almost impossible to figure out, and impossible to remember once you do figure out how you did something. I guess the HIG is really just a guideline and not something that needs to be followed. I would love to work with the developers and help turn this app into a real user friendly tool. Please don't tell me to read the manual, these apps should be intuitive. I would like to give app a higher rating but until the UI improves it's just to hard to use. No matter how great the features are or how much information is there if you can't get to it it is useless.

What's going on with this update? Does not seem to be working with my iPad 1 with iOS 5. It used to be great.

It works fine, however on iOS 5 sometimes it's unresponsive.

I imagine this app has lots of useful features, but it is almost unusable. I can't figure out how to do anything. I can see stroke order for a character but only if I find it in the Grade list, not if I look it up in the dictionary. With a more intuitive interface, this could be a very useful app.

This app needs a lot of work. Hard to manage lists of words. There isn't a good enough way to test your character writing. And it is glitch-prone... With a more user friendly interface and better practicing features it might be worth the money....
