Description

Jazz Saxophone Etudes for Tenor Saxophone, Volume 1 features twelve melodic etudes for the advancing jazz saxophonist. These etudes feature a wide variety of tempos, ranging from a ballad (66 BPM) through medium swing tempos (126 - 168 BPM), all the way up to fast bebop tempos ( from 184 BPM through 264 BPM). Each etude demonstrates a melodic approach to soloing with authentic jazz vocabulary. The etudes are catchy, fun to play, and written idiomatically for the saxophone.
The etudes are based on familiar chord progressions, including the blues, rhythm changes, and a variety of common “standard” 32-bar songs.

Etudes for Tenor Sax (V1) Reviews

Standards in wrong keys

Bblue Jazz on

France

This collection of études is based on well known standards. But they were written for Eb alto saxophone… Instead of transposing the scores for tenor, or rewrite new études especially adapted for Bb horns, they simply transposed the sound-tracks to fit the scores! That makes these etudes useless for students studying improvisation on standards… unless you enjoy working on songs you already know in strange and new keys… but that’s a completely different challenge and not the purpose for me, purchasing this method. So be beware, this is not for tenor, clarinet nor trumpet players. I wish this had been told beforehand…I wasted my money because this app goes straight to the garbage! BS! WTF!! …🤯
