Big fan of both the UI and functionality. I had been using another journaling app for several months but was getting frustrated with its quirks, switching over to Everlog has made the nightly journal process easier and more enjoyable
The ability to backup to iCloud and comment on old posts is AWESOME. Developer is super helpful and responsive to emails and implements new iOS features soon after launch!
I have been using Everlog for about a year now. I love the Markdown support, and when they added support for Apple’s Journaling Suggestions, I could not give them my money fast enough. It is a beautifully designed app, and it stays out of my way when I just need to write. I have a Shortcuts automation that runs every afternoon, so I can simply open Everlog in the evening and reflect on my day.
As a longtime user of Day One, I had gotten used to how Day One worked over the years, and it was fine, but I longed for an app that didn’t store my data on some random server somewhere … I wanted to keep my data in iCloud (like I do with Bear Notes, etc). Also, I wanted an app to be “native” to Apple, and more simple, more streamlined, more MARKDOWN. Everlog is that app; I’ve migrated over 10 years of journaling into Everlog and I’m not looking back. Developer is great and responsive as well!
I’m a former Day One user, and I have been using Everlog for many months. I imported all of Day One entries with ease. Everlog is a joy to use. My favorite feature is the ability to add a comment to an existing journal entry. That sounds like a boring feature, but it is SO USEFUL when it comes to adding comments to the many entries that show up in the “On This Day” view. I can see what I was thinking in years past, then add updates via comment as to how I feel about that entry now. Everlog on the iPhone can access Apple’s “Journaling Suggestions”, and the way the app displays locations from those suggestions is better than how Day One does it. Finally, kudos to the developer for being responsive to feature requests and bug submissions.
hi creator, tbh i just wanted to thank you for this app. it’s clean, work great, feels completely, and honestly has turned my mental around. thank you so much
Everlog has a broken sequence of function code. If you try to upload a photo with your current settings on Limited Access, you’ll be given a screen with a choice to change your current settings, right on screen. If you tap on Select more, then select a photo and tap Add, nothing will be attached to your entry. It’s a bug. Fix it. I paid for a lifetime plan. If you die before me, your children will have to fix it for me.
Every time I try to upload videos, I get an error saying the attachment not synced…blah, blah, blah. I love the app, just needs an update to fix the bug. **update** I'm still having issues uploading videos and pictures to my journal entries. Some videos are not loading, and then when I try to fix the issue, the app crashes! Again, it's an awesome app, but it's super glitchy!
This is literally hands-down one of the coolest applications out there for journaling. And I love how the developer absolutely cares about every little feature that goes into this. Unlike some of the larger ones that are out there. I’m not going to name names, but I’m sure people who have flocked to this app no exactly which one I’m talking about. i’m sure at some point I’ll end up switching fully, but who knows. I guess we’ll see.
