Eversolo Control Reviews

As of 1.1.17 Network Still a Mess

MyNicknameIsTakenByMe on

Network is still a mess. Works great for days and then doesn’t. It was working fine until I upgraded the DMP-A6 and now no network again. Such a great device but the app-device communication is abysmal.

Connection dropouts

Boomvang@21 on

United States

The entire reason for purchasing this (DMP-A6 Master edition) was to stream audio. The core functionality is to stream - so if that doesn’t work then we have a problem. We have a problem. I’ve been in touch with them over this, but still no resolution. When we get a fix, I’ll change my review. Until then, I remain incredibly frustrated.

Hmmm 🤔

Well I’ll start off by saying the idea of everything put into these units is good, while isn’t perfected. During the week and a half I’ve owned my a6 master edition, I’ve had several drop outs where my music stopped streaming from Tidal, and Qobuz. I use both for different reasons, but nevertheless it stopped having me thinking it was my fiber optic internet. Resetting my network, and extender. Disconnecting the Eversolo from WiFi, reconnecting it. Connecting to my hotspot, powering the unit on and off. Even flipping the switch in the rear. Happened two days straight randomly and would last over an hour. Now tidal connect would work, and Apple Music would work. I did get frustrated and consider returning this unit and going with a Lumin or Hifi Rose. I haven’t listened to music the way I did when I first got, being I was speeding up the break in process. And when I say on going streaming I’m talking about 6-7 hours a day. For 3-4 days straight! So far I haven’t experienced that issue again but I’m only listening for a few hours every other day now. So maybe the bug was fixed in the last update? Not sure. Far as sound quality goes? The master edition imo competes for sure with Lumin and HiFi Rose, for a fraction of the cost which is definitely a good thing. I had thoughts on the A8 BUT simply because I’m not using it as a dac, streamer, and preamp, not needing the extra connectivity I opted to go for the master edition. Which is connected to my Marantz av10 using the Marantz amp10 via AudioQuest Earth XLR’s even with the Eversolo. It’s power up time is decently fast. User interface is very easy to use, very nice display but not sure of it’s longevity or potential screen retention/burn as this product is fairly new. But if that’s no concern because it’s a lcd then I’d like to see a screen saver off option when the unit is on. The touch portion works very well and I haven’t encountered any issues. What I would like to see is album covers show every time. Which mostly happens but I have seen a time or two where it didn’t show. I would also like to also see Apple Music show up as an app and not look like you’re using a pc logging in. It shows in a desktop configuration. So I think Apple definitely needs some touching up. The spectrum analyzer is nice to look at but again I think needs some polishing. Midrange and highs hardly show anything while the bass area works great mostly jumping up to the top of the screen. All other spectrum analyzers I’ve owned in the

Disappointing coming from HEOS

SC fail on

United States

After watching reviews of the A6 and A8 and hearing the glowing remarks about the app, I was so looking forward to a better experience than what I was having with HEOS. The HEOS worked but the interface felt clunky. This app is even worse. Connection issues constantly. Tried the usual fixes. Same problem over and over. I mainly use Amazon music, so this is my experience. Want to search for an album at the back of the alphabet, you’re going to need to scroll 10 rows at a time, and it will only continue loading albums when you get to the bottom of the 10 rows. Then when you are progressing through the search, bam connection broken “no data”. Restart the app and start from the beginning. There is so much room for improvement with this app I feel a two star is generous.

Fits and starts

I love my Eversolo DMP-A6, but this app is the weak point. Too many freezes, spinning wheels and restarts.

Great updates

Thanks for fixing the up next play queue with the songs that are actually coming up next correctly in order. Also, the iPad landscape view looks great now. Keep the updates coming, getting better and better!

Horrible UI with 3-5 second lag

Teh_z on

United States

I rarely write reviews but this app is infuriating. I’m using it with Amazon Music. All the buttons are wayyyyyy too tiny, it only works in landscape mode, there’s no way to click on an artist or album to play something different from them. You have to go through all the steps again. Worst of all, there’s a 4-6 second delay when selecting anything which makes using this very frustrating. All music apps and services need to learn from Spotify. There’s a reason why they’re still the most popular despite still not offering high res audio.

Fantastic App for the Eversolo DPM A6

Not a YouTube executive. on

I have absolutely nothing to complain about with the Eversolo app controlling my music streamer. I haven’t experienced any bugs, It has been intuitive and regularly updated and the Cast mode that mimics the Eversolo face on my phone is really slick. Top notch job! it makes me not miss any form of remote control with the DPM – A6 device.

Volume bottoms too small

The volume up and down access too small, please make it easier to access it.

Network Stability on WLAN

Mrk-man on

United States

After an endless amount of updates, it appears that network connectivity issues still remain. I’m running an enterprise grade network but the app inexplicably does not want to connect to the device. Both the mobile device and streamer are forced to use the same access point on the network. The streamer has a static IP set in the router via DHCP reservation. I recommend that the devs add static IP settings in the streamer menu directly and make the streamer WLAN radio stay awake when the unit is powered off. That will solve a TON of problems.
