Evolution Board Game Reviews

Multiplayer is awful

Nereus ow on

In multiplayer every third game is stuck. If you WIN a game, frequently your score is DECREASED. Sometimes when you lose, it actually increases. If you quit stuck game your score is decreased again. And this happens for 2 months already, devs are clearly scripting kiddies.

Good but unbalanced

This game is a good alternative to the cardboard, but not as good as I wanted. At some levels I was freaking out, I mean levels 10, and “especially” level 18, when there are lots of hungry herbivores. At one of my 10 replays there even was no card such as “fat tissue” and “cooperation” during the whole play! These are essential card for this game, and instead of them I got only defensive or attacking cards, when my opponents got all the cards they need to win. I didn’t even “have a chance” to win that play! It’s unfair! How do you imagine such thing happens in real cardboard when my opponent get all herbivores cards and I get none! How would you explain this! And I was playing at normal mode, not brutal. So I advise you to add some “helping” — if the player is herbivore — give him herbivore cards, if carnivore - then carnivore cards, and in between defensive cards. Otherwise it’s not fair at all! Although I’ve completed the whole campaign, the level 18 made me really angry that I was thinking about money request! Also, it seems to me that carnivores somewhat prefer to attack the player than other AI, so the player won’t win! Add some randomness to the carnivore attacks, otherwise it’s also unfair. And one more thing — add a local multiplayer — I mean the ability to play with friends on “one” screen. It’s a cardboard game ripoff, what you were thinking about by not including this feature at the release? Why can’t all 4 players play on one iPad? So, is it worth it 8 (or 10)$ now — no, with such unfair balance and no local multiplayer. Will it be worth it after fixing this? — yes, definitely. It’s a good game, and AI is smart and fun to play with (if it’s not cheating, because it’s doing some things that wouldn’t be possible in real cardboard even with a skilled players)

This game was fun,but I don’t get making us pay for the full game

so good it basically ruins the real game

i love this board game but it has the same flaw that many boardgames have which is a tedious scoring system – the app does all the work for you and it’s so fast and clean that I don’t really want to play the physical board game anymore – plus you get to customize your game and always play with your house rules so another bonus of the app

This game fails at the Create Account screen, can't create an account so I can't play the game. There is a workaround by going through the tutorial but if you skip the tutorial you can't play. Update: Thanks for fixing the bug! Fun game!

This game went from having booming potential to falling flat

Maxipadxxi on

This game was so good before the update. Multiplayer was gaining momentum and a community of competitors was forming - one with an array of players employing their own strategies. That all went away since the latest update. A BIG reason is the change from the minimum 3 players to start a game to only 2 players + AI. this just made games a more glamorous version of playing by yourself. I was way into this game and now I’m out. I’ve seen this same behavior with a lot of other seasoned players. Please change that back

I gave this game a star already because even if you can do a move if you have a carnival, they won’t let you which is so weird. I’m so mad. Why don’t they let you cause I was seeing horrible and it wasn’t letting me eat it with my carnivore, so weird I really wanted to eat that and after that I got so mad that I hit my bed and I said I hate this game right now in real life it’s fun I don’t recommend if you get the five dollar one but I haven’t tried it so maybe you should but probably not I tried the classic ones are terrible like you can’t attack every thing. It’s so annoying I’m so mad the people who made this please respond to me. I am so mad it’s so annoying. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Can’t get into game.

When I open the game is wants me to create an account or skip, but neither work. Hitting “skip” does nothing. Entering my email and password works, but hitting “create account” does nothing. The “login button” works and takes me to a new window, but that doesn’t help because I don’t have an account (and out of curiosity I entered the user and pass I previously typed and it said the account didn’t exist). The “create account” button works in the sense that if I don’t enter an email or password it says I need them, but once I have them and hit “create account” nothing happens that I can see.
