Great little app

Paper_Queen on

Does the trick, easy to use, and straightforward. Not sure what a previous comment refers to about this pointing to Google Maps...not the case. It's a fully contained, stand alone app. Well done! UPDATED 07.23.14 Have relied on this app for two Taipei trips now. As someone who travels extensively by Metro, this is the single most-used app on my phone. Would be sunk without it. Great work, folks!

Seems very worth it to me

Mrprm on

This is the only MRT Taipei helper with new routes and up to date. US$ 1.99 was well worth it.

Worthless. You have to be connected

And if you have a connection, what is the point? This app is merely a portal to google maps. I somehow thought I was getting something else.

OK

Jim U. on

United States

I agree. Not bad as a free app but there are better ones if one is to pay.

Good enough...

It's not my best-experienced metro route planner, but it surely is the best one for Taipei. I downloaded it when it was free. I don't think it worth 1.99 dollars.

Where is the Chinese? (漢字)

欧文/RyanErwin on

United States

I've been using the Explore Shanghai and Explore Beijing Metro maps and they both work great, so I downloaded Taipei and Hong Kong too - unfortunately, even if your phone is in Chinese mode, the Chinese characters do not show up on the Taipei map. Considering that Taiwan mandarin romanization is based on the Wade Giles system instead of "pinyin", it makes Chines pronounciation of place names impossible. Also, reguardless of the language your phone interface is set to, there should be an easy way to toggle between English, Simplified and Traditional display of each place name, as talking to Taiwanese, Westerners or Mainlanders not having the ability to conviently use their native display weakens the software.
