I have been using Family Tree for a number of years along with MyHeritage. But my computer died and I am not able to move these programs to my new laptop. I need help and the instructions provided do not work for me.

Struggling to get a tree that my family already built

I didn’t want to have to build an entire tree when my grandpa always built an entire family tree on here. Can’t find anything without having to pay $260/year

I am a beginner. So far, with a little help, I’m finding family connections.

I am a Roots Magic user but I have been looking for an app to make stylish looking family charts that I can print myself. This app looks fantastic in the App Store. The graphics are very pretty and the screenshots appear to be exactly what I’m looking for. A simple but graphically interesting family tree to include with photo albums and other family keepsakes for when they get passed down. Unfortunately, there is no free access to try out the app before signing up for a subscription. Despite the fact that the Subscription button in the App Store indicates a free month trial—Once you download the app, there are a couple of cutesy animated intro screens that really don’t provide much information. The 3rd screen is an offer to sign up for a 3 day free trial which then automatically becomes a $4.99/week subscription. You can’t skip past this. With the cute animation, you’d think there would be a short tutorial video so you could at least see how it works before signing up for a subscription. I don’t like to give out info before seeing if the app is even something that I’d like and a 3 day trial seems like barely enough time to learn a few rudimentary functions much less get a real feel for how it works unless you have hours a day to spend working with it. I can see giving it a try, deciding not to continue with the subscription and then being forever inundated with emails begging me to subscribe.

Even a basic family tree is not free

I was able to add my son and one parent before it started asking for money. Ridiculous I deleted the app

Not free at all

The app is available for free, but almost every desired feature within the app comes with a price tag. For instance, you can only add a limited number of family members before being required to start paying. Additionally, if you want to conduct in-depth research on your family, you have to make a payment. It would be more straightforward for the app to have an initial download fee since the free version offers limited functionality. The app seems to heavily favor paid users, making it difficult to enjoy the full experience without spending money. If you're not willing to invest any money, DONT GET THIS APP! (I gave it 5 stars so you can see this)
