Fancy Feats Reviews

Perfect!

CWPayton on

This app is perfect for those serous about learning to jump rope and get tricks down. Lauren takes you step by step through the process and makes it very achievable. I was trying to learn just watching her videos on YouTube but once I got this app I really made progress. It’s like having your own personal trainer and easily worth the small investment.

Price is high but LOVE this

Even though the price is high, it is a GREAT app! Love Lauren, love skill map, combos, it’s great!

Not intuitive (updated review)

Cheryl Dell’Osso on

United States

Love her IG posts so I was excited to try the app. I wanted to love it, but the way it works is not intuitive. After some frustration and almost just deleting it, I got help from their support. The programs or lessons are good, but the app is poorly designed.

Skill map won’t load

Cutspec-2 on

The APP seems great to navigate but the videos on the skill map won’t load..I double checked to ensure the skill was unlocked and tried on various WiFi networks but the videos still won’t load after a week. However the training videos do.

Too expensive :)

I love Lauren, but I can’t afford the $25.00/month. I wish it’s subscription was more affordable. I had the app for a month and I did like it…but the cost. :(

Love this app!

I have decided to start learning jump rope bc I randomly found Lauren on YouTube shorts a couple months ago & I just love her. I saw that she had an app & I was like, “why is this rated so low?!” Then I realized it is because people expect everything to be free these days instead of paying people for their hard work & for providing a service. *shrug* I will say, I can understand people wanting to have the option for a free trial to see if they like it & that has now been remedied, as has the “lite” option which is only $9.99/month. Yes, it costs money. Yes, you can probably find similar tutorials/lessons online & put together your own workouts & programs…but this is an option (a fantastic one!) for those who would rather pay & have everything put together nicely than to find everything & put it together on your own. It’s why I pay a personal trainer even though I am also a personal trainer. Some people complained it wasn’t “advanced” enough - it literally says “LEARN to jump rope” … of course it’s beginner & intermediate. Anyway, it sounds like they’re going to be continually adding more so people can stop complaining 🙄 They listened to reviews & gave free trial option as well as a “lite” version for less money, & at adding more content- give it a go! It’s a really nice app & I can’t wait to get into it more!

Love the app, price too high

As a beginner/intermediate jumproper this app is *exactly* what I’ve been looking for - simple breakdowns, some new fancy footwork, combos, etc. Really love it. But $25 a month is just way too high. It’s prohibitive for most people. Seconding some feedback on the skill map… I understand the intent, but it’s far too on-rails. I found myself dedicating 15 min to clicking on every skill and tapping ‘complete’, just so I could see the rest of them. We need to be able to explore to get motivated and excited to learn.

Bad

Nawwab93 on

There is no programs only tutorials for the moves which is helpful but the program lacks a lot of things and regarding to its price is hella expensive! The help button doesn’t work to show us how to measure the jump rope and there is a notification for subscription to newsletters which pops up every time you wanna watch the tutorials and when you click subscribe it sends error message and if you clock don’t subscribe shows error message either way!!!! And the notification doesn’t go unless to press the home button. I’ve subscribed only for one month and it was such a waste of money. Thank you tho

Jump rope tricks made easy ☺️

I’ve had the app for several months now and it is SO much fun! 🥳 I really appreciate how the tutorials show slow motion video with graphics to indicate hand/foot placement, etc! The skills map is motivating — I want to get to the point of doing combos, but I know I need to master the fundamentals first. Yes, the app is expensive. However, I live in an area that doesn’t really have quality gyms, so I wouldn’t be able to progress in learning jump rope otherwise. I also like being able to overcome the awkward learning stages from the privacy of home ☺️ I can easily imagine the costs and leaps of faith it took to develop the app; I’m hoping it will become more affordable once some of those costs have been recouped :) all in all, it’s really worth the cost anyway.

Incredible app

I’ve been jump roping for 2 years and I know 50% of these skills. I’ve had two instructors virtually, both cirque jump ropers. No one ever told me my rope was too long! I found out in Lauren’s help videos. Even so, I’ve managed to jump very complex sequences. Really relishing this opportunity to go through the skill map, brushing up on old skills and learning new ones in my own time. An hour virtual class can range from $30 to $60, and $30 if you’re hiring someone from Central Europe, so the app is so worth it to me! YouTube is an option, as is Instagram, but trust me, the way Lauren breaks the skills down, you will actually learn, instead of learning halfway like I did for ages. Lauren is an amazing source of knowledge, is able to break it down strategically, and has designed an intuitive app. For the quality of the app and service. I think it’s well worth the price.
