Good app, but has bugs

I spent an hour creating profiles for my various loads and saved all of them in the app. A few days later, all my saved calculations were gone!!!

Decent for the price

Like the simplicity, but there are bugs that don’t calculate energy

Did work, now won’t open. Awesome & accurate when worked!

Works well but not all math is correct

I use this app just for curiosity sake of drop of different bullets. I noticed today that the energy calculation for 12 gauge slug seems off by quite a bit. The other rounds work so not sure what the issue is. A 1 oz slug does not have 33,000ftlb of energy at the muzzle.

Used this app for years for long range shooting

I’ve never had an issue with this app ballistic calc. Ive used it successfully for my hand load for more than 5 cartridges. Works great out to 1350 yards with my 6.5 creedmoor. Great out to 1,100 with my .308

Great for what it is for

This is fantastic for estimating drop at modest ranges (300 yards or less), especially for iron sight or classic style scope shooters. It will be an on paper estimate that you can perfect from there depending on your individual firearm. This isn’t a sniper DOPE book, precise data depends on your more than just ammo. Your specific rifle, humidity, barrel length, elevation, and at extreme ranges the position of the moon and rotation of the earth. This is an app on your phone. It doesn’t Bluetooth to your scope and talk to local weather stations. It has no idea if you are rockin a 16 or 24 inch barrel. It doesn’t know if your specific rifle has a perfect chamber seal or if your scope is 2 degrees off plumb. This is a rough calculation of the ammunition in an ideal circumstance. It will get you on paper at reasonable ranges, give you a rough idea of how range will effect velocity, estimate wind drift, and is sufficient to start gathering your own data and modest ranges. Hitting a 500+ yard target in the 10 ring reliably will realistically take you shooting regularly in various weather conditions and noting where you hit. You’ll shoot out a couple barrels before you can hit the 1,000 meter every time. Remember that in the 1800’s people hit 1,000 yard targets with iron sights on a black powder loaded 45-70 shooting solid lead bullets they cast themselves at a campfire. There is no substitute for range time but this app will give the iron sights shooter, or the guy with a bushnell Sportview that you can’t adjust without a screwdriver a great starting point so they don’t spend all their ammo looking for a 300 yard splash.

Good app

Despite the poor reviews, I had no problem with the app. It never crashed, saved appropriately and gave good information on the loads I asked for. It does allow handloads and non Federal loads such as Hornady and Norma. I recommend for quick information. It is not as in-depth as the Hornady app, but does what it does well enough.

Stopped working

Crashes before I can really evaluate it

Looks like it might be a good resource for basic ballistic info but app crashes after you select the ammo parameters, especially if you try to change the range. Too bad. Just like the Winchester app, this one is unfinished or published by people who doesn’t care about their business. Typical. Please hire software developers who care what they’re doing so I can give this app five stars. It’s also a shame that Federal chooses to dis \respect customers by withholding their privacy policy info. If they were required to reveal this information, smart users would delete this app or any other that has an abusive privacy practice. I guess that’s why apple lets app makers get away with not revealing their privacy practices!
