Literally the most useful app I have had on any iOS device
I have been using this app since 2010 and have used it on 4 different versions of the iPad plus an iPhone and iPod. I also work in IT so part of my job is to evaluate the usefulness of software and it’s fit for purpose. I’ve never been asked to pay for this app, which is odd because I probably would have. And if the developers of this app ever read this review, I’d definitely be interested in paying for a good quality app that allows me to convert file types from restrictive iOS apps (like the voice recorder) to more useful file tyoes, ie convert voice recording to mp3 or 4). Anyway of every app I have on my idevices this is my essential go to app. And not only is it something I use on a regular basis, but numerous times I have wanted to access files stored on my iPad which have been not impossible to separate and access, but, to be honest a major pain in the a-s, thanks to all of the proprietary nonsense associated with file management though iTunes or via a usb connection to a laptop. In those situations, 9 times out of ten I have thought to myself Aftr an hour or to of frustration, “hang on, maybe I can save it to FileMaster and from there get it somewhere it is actually useful to me”. And while the most recent versions of FileMaster are more restricted than earlier versions(not their fault because they are just complying with ever more restrictive and annoying proprietary apple restrictions that prevent us from actually being able to use our own device data and documents), it is til most often the app that finally fixes my problems. So if you read this, definitely down load it. It’s free, I don’t think you can actually pay for it even if you want to lol, and next time you have a file you can’t find a way to convert into a useable format from the apple format and the find a way to send it to a useful app, this might be the solution you need. When sharing, you need to click on “more” to the right of the default share apps if FileMaster is not in the list of apps to share to, and usually FileMaster is in the ‘more’ list of apps. I’m not a paid reviewer or anything like that, and most the time I am complaining about apps with very obvious defects that the developers don’t seem to care about. But I feel like if I am going to nag and moan about crappy apps then I need to also give credit her credit is due and all credit to the developers of this app, it’s a goodie 😀
