Good idea poor execution

Reports often closed at random, without resolution. Sometimes repeated reports will get it fixed, sometimes not. Provide feedback on WHY you are closing the ticket

App only lets me submit if connected to WiFi

Luckymiss on

United States

The app will not let me submit reports on cellular data, only when I’m connected to WiFi (yes, I’ve verified cellular data is enabled). This makes it almost useless, as the scope is for SDOT ROW, and there’s very little WiFi in the middle of the road.

City does nothing

No reports are ever addressed. The streets of Seattle are a mess, figuratively and literally. No point using this app as they never fix anything.

Categories are useless for many issues.

Location map doesn’t allow search. Very few categories compared to the variety of issues facing our city. Only 3 stars on app store. Sorry to be so critical, but there is no excuse for such a poorly managed app.

Find it, ignore it

Etrouble on

This app is completely useless. The city just uses it to pretend they care about cleaning things up. All reports get closed immediately without fixing the issues or ignored entirely. Don’t waste your time expecting city officials to do their jobs.

Not bad at all

And if we used it, City would improve it. (Tho I am also a bit puzzled by the complaints.)

It works

I’ve reported a lot of issues like dead animals and illegal dumping. The issues are normally solved within a few days. Just because an issue is closed doesn’t mean they’re ignoring it! I had a safety issue and tripping hazard I reported closed with seemingly no resolution. Then, I got a call from the city a couple days later asking for some additional information, so they could fix it. It seems issues may be closed when they’re routed to an appropriate department rather than when their fixed which seems to be the primary source of confusion

No Response

The app is a cool idea and works great for submitting issues, but there is no detail or communication after you submit. My case was just marked “closed” one day and there were no details. Even a single sentence would be nice. That was disappointing as I had hope for this app.

Useless

lucky_migz on

This is a waste of taxpayer dollars. The city does no follow up or take action on abandoned car reports. After 60 days it all expires and you get a message saying “no action possible” and case closed. Why would the city would spend money on an app to report things when it doesn’t have capacity to solve anything? Not surprising, but still frustrating.

Great App with Excellent Potential

I have used this app for years to report everything from graffiti to stolen cars to hazardous materials from homeless encampments. The city does a great job fixing this stuff up quickly. My main critique is that this app needs to be promoted more via posters, billboards, Spotify, online ads, and more. An app is only as good as its user base, and most friends and family that I have talked with had never heard of this app before. The other criticism that I have is that the team does need to always follow through with cleaning up the graffiti, fixing damaged roads, or removing debris to the full extent that it is actually there. It is frustrating to share a picture of some new ugly graffiti at a park, but only a small part of what is shown is actually cleaned up, and/or the rest of the park that has a lot more graffiti is left unchanged. Please try to do as much as you can while you are there - follow the broken window theory. Fix up as much as you can while you are there, don’t stick with the bare minimum. I know that keeping the city in top-notch condition is a massive undertaking, I so try to share this app with everyone I know so that we can have a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful city. Thank you to the City of Seattle for creating this app!
