FitLink FAQ
Is FitLink free?
Yes, FitLink is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is FitLink legit?
⚠️ The FitLink app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I downloaded this app as it is the only one that connects to my Lifespan Fitness treadmill.
The basic functionality is in place. The app will let you dial in the parameters of your run and then transmit this to the treadmill via Bluetooth. As a “killer feature” you can configure your own running program where you can set the duration of your training, the number of intervals and the speed / incline of each interval. But sadly, this otherwise useful feature is clunky to use. Like when setting the speed, you cannot use decimal points, making it impossible to configure 12.5 kph for instance. The workaround being to type this number in another app and then copy+paste it into FitLink. It will also “forget” the previous settings when you later come back to edit the settings for an interval. It is also impossible to simply copy an existing program and modify it. You always have to start from scratch.
Lastly, FitLink does not integrate with popular fitness tracking apps like Strava. There is an Apple Health integration though.
All in all, this feels like an incomplete app that they then stopped evolving. The aforementioned problems are all fixable with a moderate amount of effort. But sadly, this never seems to happen.
Review
Perfect
Can’t even accept terms an conditions
Downloaded this app as I believed it to be an update of earlier software for my walking machine, the app is tailored for the iPhone allegedly, but in practice that is not the case.
When loading on my phone ( iPhone SE Gen3) it loads fine but the issue kicks in when I pass through the intro screens to the “Get Started” page.
So I click get started but then a dialogue opens stating that I need to agree with terms and conditions…
So there are no other options on the page , I cannot do anything. Interestingly I loaded the same software on my iPad, i discovered that there is a check box for agreeing with the terms and conditions but on the iPhone it is off the screen and the screen cannot be shrunk or resized.
Developer:- please put the check box for agreement with terms and conditions above the “get started” button please!
Doesn’t automatically sync results
Unless you open the treadmill with the app, the results won’t sync, and even if you do then you get double results. I shouldn’t haven’t to deal with such basic functionality
Too many crashes
Good when it works but too many bugs for a simple app. Crashes and does not save the workout when linked to Apple Watch, phone rings, switch between apps for too long, reply to a txt when app is open. Can’t get rely on it to record your workout
Doesn’t sync, no support
Downloaded this to sync my Lifespan workouts with Apple Health, but it doesn’t even save my actual workout on the FitLink app itself once I finish the workout! The support option given in the app is to email a non existent email address, and even clicking on app support here via the app support comes up with errors.
Does not sync with Apple health as advertised
Despite being connected to Apple Health no data syncs over from Fitlink. Basically the only reason I bought this specific spin bike was for the connectivity which does work
What, no heart rate?
I’ve given the mid rating because in its current incarnation, it’s a mid app. I appreciate that it’s free but all it gives me is a way to record the ride with the same basic functionality the bike itself has. Doesn’t add anything. And worst part is, it doesn’t seem to have any heart rate functionality. I would have thought that at a bare minimum it would at least have that. What fitness app doesn’t these days? If that functionality is there and I just can’t find it then please update the app so it can actually be found. If it’s not there, could you please add it. I might actually use the app if it gets HR monitoring.
No longer functioning
I bought this spin bike specifically for its app sync functionality and after a week i can no longer log in to use the app due to what i assume is expired/misconfigured SSL certificates.
Why should I even need to log in anyways? Why can’t I just use my expensive bike as intended without some company needing to harvest my data. Insanely stupid.
