Works great .. one star off for setup issues
Great product but was a pain to get the app to recognize the QR code . Had to end up manually entering after using the camera app to try and search for it first and then copying and pasting it

This app monitors the flume sensor installed on my main water meter down near the street. It was easy to install - simply raps around the meter. No tools, etc. The app collects data on water usage by the minute continuously. You can go back and look at different periods of time, and compare by the week, day, hour, and down to the minute. The one big enhancement needed os support for landscape mode on iPad OS. This is not in the current version. There is also more work needed in the flexibility of data export to a .csv or spreadsheet file. I would like to be able to do this to compare flume reported usage to data from my irrigation controllers and data from my water company. The system has delivered value for me. It detected a significant leak in my sprinkler plumbing that was wasting a huge amount of water. Repairing and verifying with Flume I have reduced my water usage and bill by about 40%.
The battery that come with the Flume 2 unit I bought lasted for about 6 months. I bought the second one from Flume, and it last 2 months. Every time the sensor unit is removed from the water meter from the street the sensor needs to be recalibrated. The app said it takes about 3 minutes. I ran the water in the bath tub for 5 minutes, the app didn’t say it passed or failed the calibration. I did the recalibration again the second time make sure I didn’t missed any step, but it failed again. After wasting so much water in calibration, I called Flume, and they said my sensor is not connected to my bridge. They got to reset it from their end. Their custom battery is nothing but a set of four AA batteries packed in a closed enclosure, so customers can’t change batteries themselves, but they are forced to buy Flume battery, which costs $20. Your warranty will be void if you use your own custom made battery.
I had no idea how much water was being used during my irrigation
If you need accurate water usage for whole home. Do this. Also, if you need a budget month that start and ends on a certain day of the week or month then report to them you want this feature. Right now custom budgets do this, but only by day of the month not by business day of the # week.
Interesting to see my daily water usage, and of course how many times I use the loo. It is very very accurate.
We have been struggling with tracking the amount of water we had been putting into our garden, many plants have pretty strict guidance and all sprinkler products are rated but it’s kinda “FUZZY” math that gets used figuring output, and all is lost if you don’t have a firm understanding of your inputs, pressure blah blah blah BUT WHEN I DISCOVERED FLUME THAT ALL CHANGED!!! It’s remarkably accurate, I have tested it against a five gallon bucket and a stop watch and I have to say, I am not a scientist, but I am horribly anal about my data, if it’s not accurate why have it? Thinking you know something and being wrong is worse than not knowing FLUME gives me more data than I need, and it’s accurate, my usage has changed since the purchase, things I needed to know before I don’t want now but it has the new data points I want I have not regretted this purchase and above that I can’t believe that this little device has so much insight I highly recommend it to anyone that’s looking for insight into their water consumption and believe this could change the world making more people aware of what water they are spending on infinite aspects of their lives
Allows me to manage our water consumption and helps the whole family learn that water is a precious resource. It also helps track for leaky appliances - have saved around $100 from water bill in the first three months. Excellent product, installation takes a little perseverance but is worth it. And customer service is top notch.
I got the device through a deal from my water company. Within a month it detected a leak that otherwise I would’ve never known about. And then today it detected another leak and after searching for a bit I found out it was one of our renters that the toilet was running. There would’ve been no other way for me to know without this device. Will definitely save you a lot of $$$
The app will not change orientation on my iPad when changed to landscape.
