Fluora FAQ

Yes, Fluora is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Fluora legit?
⚠️ The Fluora app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I really, really love this plant. It’s gorgeous and fun, but the app is often frustrating. It usually can’t find the device, so you need to do a power cycle, or the app needs to be reinstalled, etc. More often than not, I have to turn it off manually. In fact, it’s usually a surprise when I open the app and it can find the plant. I feel like I would have preferred a remote.
Working well as of July 2024.
Based on the comments I have read from the early adopters going back a few years, it appears this product has had a rocky start which is understandable given they are a small company launching a new product.
All I can say is that as of July 14, 2024 a week after I received my Fluora mini, my experience has been good. After installing the app, the firmware was upgraded to 1.0.0 and I have been using the current version of the Fluora app which is currently 0.36.4. I had no issues connecting to my Fluora mini via Wi-Fi (just be sure you’re using 2.4 GHz instead of 5 GHz). I have also had no issues controlling the Fluora mini with the app. I am pretty pleased with the quality of the lighting and options that are currently available. I wouldn’t mind seeing some more effects in the future, and maybe ways of saving custom settings, but I am pretty pleased with what’s available.
Dumpster fire
They wait months for plants to arrive from china, so what else are you doing if not making a better app? The app is trash, the connectivity is trash, the support is trash. Stay away.
Lots to be Desired
Plant is cool.
Doesn’t stay connected.
Doesn’t connect.
Can’t just turn it on or off because of this.
Sorely needs Alexa / HomeKit Integration. This is standard now guys come on.
Finicky product overall. Beautiful just user hostile.
I want to love this plant…..
The plant itself is wonderful when it works. The plant plugs should be exchanged for a more stable connection. The app is terrible. I’ve had this since Christmas of 23 and have yet to get it connected to the app for any duration of time. I’ve only been using the button to control the plant. I have an iPhone 14 and my wife a 15. We have tried on Android tablets, iPads and even changed our WiFi from Orbi to Google WiFi. It connects, the app just keeps failing to stay connected. So disappointing.
Frustrating lack of features
None of the main features that were promised have been delivered on. Smart home integration, Philips hue, etc. Fluora is a pain to connect to, and worse yet, it won’t even remember the settings it was using after a power cycle. Disappointed that I backed this project.
Frustrating
Didn’t want to have to write this review. It was frustrating enough that I got this product for it’s music reactivity, and then they kept pushing back that features’ rollout. The app has been lacking from the start, and now I’m stuck being asked to update the firmware, but in order to do so I have to update the app, when there ISN’T AN APP UPDATE AVAILABLE. So I can’t even use the plant. This is after a few days of power cycling trying to get the firmware to even initiate. All of these things should have been worked out before they started shipping these very expensive products. If you can build something that cool & beautiful, you can make a decent app.
Not a good app
Awful app, but the plant lamp is great. App is not consistent, it’s hard to connect to the lamp. Have to unplug and plug it back in for the app to register that there a lamp around. Kinda unbelievable that such a nice product has such a trash app to accompany it. Oh well I still love my lamp.
Plant is great, app not so much
The plant itself took a few times to connect, but once it did, the plant itself was flawless. The app, however…nope. The app does not abide by any time settings to turn off/on or change modes, adjusting the scenes or using manual controls is not intuitive at all and a huge pain, and the app CONSTANTLY loses connectivity to the plant. Each time that happens, I have to power cycle the plant (best case), or more often I have to reset the whole thing—as in, forget the plant in the app, set the plant back to defaults, and reconnect it to the wifi and the app—to get the app back up and running so I can control the plant again. I have yet to keep plant and app in communication for more than 12 hours, so at this point, I have the plant in a mode I like and I’ll just leave it there til the app quality improves.
Worst app I’ve ever used
Honestly, this is the worst application on the iPhone I’ve ever downloaded for a product. You’d think with the price we pay for the unit, the app would be up to par - I’ve been trying to give this company the benefit of the doubt. I used their app back in June and it was amazing, you could easily link plants, it never crashed and things were great but somehow, this has become the worst app I’ve ever used in the history of applications on the iPhone. The product itself is cool yes, but this app constantly crashes, can’t connect the plant, cant interconnect very well. It constantly is rifled with issues. I’m appalled to be honest.
You can't do much really with it. It’s trash and the worst app I’ve ever used. -5 stars to be honest.
