Boots me out
I’d write a few sentences and then it would kick me off the app
Fast!!
Loving this little app. It does the basics extremely well, without a ton of feature bloat. My laptop barely consumes any energy using it and it’s very responsive. (Unlike 90% of SW apps out there.) If you’re in the early stages of a script, this is the best tool I’ve tried. Nice work!
Perfect, if there aren’t musical sequences in your story
This app is perfect for beginners with the cheat sheet for screenplay format. It is also really simple. No switching between actions and dialogue. Just screenwriting bliss. The only problem is lyrics, which is a very niche problem. I am writing a story that involves musical theatre songs, and I want to have the lyrics in the script so I can have actions correspond to them. Other than that, the app is great!

So simple and 0$, unlike all these other screenwriting apps
All you really need in a SW tool
Ever since Highland 2 happened, I have never been able to adapt to any other. I say adapt becaue I use only iPad Pro and there is no support for Highland 2 on iOS (despite them promising they have it on their “Roadmap”). The simplicity and the functional value that i see with Fountain is very promising. Looking forward to some basic tweaks, but overall very happy with this app.

Speedy, simple app. Just what I needed
Fast
My review of Fountain as a professional screenwriter: get it. It’s free. It’s the fastest and least buggy tool I’ve used on iOS. It’s missing features but I emailed the developer and he/she replied right away saying they’re adding the feature I wanted (support for research notes). Did I mention it’s free?
Good app for focused writing
Just discovered this app and I’m in love. I was writing in 10 seconds. How many “writing” apps can say that? I have one feature request: if I could drag and drop sections of my outline/beats to rearrange I’d be in heaven
Awesome little app
FINALLY. The lack of simple no-strings-attached screenwriting apps on the App Store has always been strange to me. This app is simple and does exactly what it says. And it’s FREE. I wish more apps were like this. Sure, if you want a million features and beat boards and “character analysis” (whatever that means) then by all means pay $10-$100 for something else. But if you’re ready to get writing…this app is for you!!
