Fountain: Podcasts & Music

I have been using the app for over a year and it worked relatively well but a couple of weeks ago it just wouldn’t load. I contacted support but they seem to be a small team so they haven’t been able to assist with the issue. I have earnt some sats but can’t access them. Seems like a bit of a waste of time as it stands. Podcasts were interesting while the app worked.

I’ve been a long time fan of Fountain for listening to my podcasts, especially with the simple boosting mechanism and other modern podcasting standards like chapters. I also love that it’s a UK made product, often overshadowed by the international (US) competitors. Great work Oscar and Co.

Fountain is an awesome way to reward your favorite podcasts easily and help support lightning and bitcoin adoption. Onward!

Downloaded the latest version and now literally nothing loads. Shame because it was a great app

Unfortunately the text is still too small to read and does not adapt to iOS text size setting.

5 stars if you can fix the insane battery abuse of this app

I listen to between 2 and 6 hours worth of content each day on fountain. Love to see how it has evolved over time, great team and responsive support/feedback. Excellent proof-of-work!

I was excited to try a new podcast app and this fitted the bill from the description. However it’s not for me. Importing podcasts from another podcast app did not work, this was a tedious task to search and add all of the podcasts I follow manually. It doesn’t download new episodes in the way I expected. When I opened the app nothing downloads. I checked back in another podcast app and new episodes appeared immediately. There’s no “refresh” like other apps. I changed my settings to only download only over Wi-Fi, but after my internet was turned off for the night, I happened to check my Lock Screen and saw two new episodes of a podcast that were then downloading when I opened the app. You can’t skip first or last like other podcast apps either. You also can’t mark as played episodes, when you look at a podcast all episodes show regardless of what you may or may not have listened too. I’m sticking with PocketCasts but may check Fountain again in the future to see of there have been any updates. Strange layout with queue and episodes, surely this is the same thing? Couldn’t create playlists without premium.

I’m normally on fountain listening to my favourite shows on the motorway but the app isn’t letting me gain sats, I have sent emails and no reply the app is buggy and the service isn’t the standard it once was

It only works if you want to listen to podcasts about Bitcoin. Nothing else will download. I’ve pointed this out before and numerous updates haven’t improved it.
