FT Edit by the Financial Times Reviews

Really solid with a few rough edges

Ed Starch on

Switzerland

FT has some of the most informative and balanced articles in the business. FT edit offers a thoughtful, if slightly too UK-centric selection, for a reasonable price. Regarding the app itself, the design is one of excellent, elegant minimalism. Really love it! However, after spending some time with it, I have experienced times when it's very slow to wake after not being in use. I also see a bizarrely high mobile data use for what is essentially some text and a few pictures. I didn't notice it on unlimited data, but I recently took a trip abroad with a limited internet package and it ate up my entire data limit in a few days.

An eclectic selection of long and short reads of the best of the financial times

Swissfondue on

Switzerland

I enjoy the daily selection by the FT of quirky topics, fascinating interviews, and long in- depth analysis from a plethora of topics: finance, politics, science, travel, culinary and so many more.

An inexpensive way of accessing some of FTs articles

GilesCH on

United Kingdom

Not always the choice I’d have made, but the selected articles are nearly all of top quality - as one would expect of Britain’s best newspaper. The articles are very varied but of interest to a wide range of people, not those requiring detail of finance and business news. An inexpensive way of getting great journalism at much less cost than a full subscription to the paper.

Further Education

Salisbury Man. on

United Kingdom

I have read the FT edit for a year. I find it to be an education. I can not imagine starting the day without it now.

A daily digest of useful FT stuff

Slarty Bardfarst on

For those too busy to peruse the full FT, especially those with paper copies waiting on the doormat, every day, the FT Edit offers bite sized snippets

Good but could be better

WW2Today on

United Kingdom

If the spoken version was read by real people - which the Economist does so well - this would so much better.

FT Edit

benrusholme on

United Kingdom

A good selection of articles for the introductory pricing. Unfortunately saved articles do not sync between devices. The best of the week selection at weekends is a good idea, but the ‘overheard in the newsroom’ article is unwelcome - please feature one piece of content per article so that it’s easy to comprehend.

Not AD FREE via Apple News app

DebbieJ on

United Kingdom

Good articles to read with some ad free but not all are ad free via Apple News Standalone FT EDIT app from Apple App Store are Ad Free. My only quibble, a few more daily articles would be nice. Currently paying 6 month introductory offer price, therefor would be hard to justify the full subscription price on current quantities offered of daily articles.

A great facility but poor data recovery

Ken 98 on

United Kingdom

Operational problems affect most apps and the FT Edit app is no exception. The most common solution is to delete the app and to reinstall. Indeed, this is the advice given by the FT help desk. Unfortunately, this process results in all user-saved articles being irretrievably lost. I reported this several months ago when it first happened to me and now it has happened again. I suspect that FT journalists would have plenty to say about any other company that ignores data recovery in this way!

Not always the choice I’d have made, but mostly quality. Had a problem of it freezing, but reinstallation put that right.
