Le petit Gazourou vit dans un hameau de Côte d’Ivoire écrasé par le soleil. Les journées y sont éprouvantes, et des éléphants mécaniques arrachent les derniers arbres des alentours.
Pourtant, les grands-parents de Gazourou lui racontent un temps pas si lointain où une luxuriante forêt offrait aux habitants ses ombres fraîches et ses fruits en abondance.
Encouragé par sa petite voisine Nano, Gazourou va mobiliser les villageois pour tenter de réconcilier les Hommes et la Nature. Mais ça n’est pas une mince affaire. Nano et Gazourou font preuve d’ingéniosité et rassemblent leur courage pour arriver à leurs fins.
Or, au moment de toucher au but, ils vont devoir affronter une ultime épreuve.
