Hello, world! I am Ajay Gandecha, a high school junior in North Carolina, and I am the creator of Geogsmart.

From a young age, I have always been fascinated by the code behind mobile apps, and throughout middle school, I taught myself how to code so I could create my very own apps.

According to the United States Government Accountability Office, only 27% of 8th graders were proficient in geography in 2014, and 73% of students were below proficient.

Part of the reason that the majority of 8th graders are below proficient in geography skills is because it is not a major part of the social studies curriculum, and it seems boring to many people. I concluded that people did not want to learn about geography because there was no fun and engaging way to do it.

Geogsmart aims to make learning and practicing geography skills more fun, rewarding, and engaging with XP and mastery, a store to buy new app icons, leaderboards to conquer, and badges to collect!
I hope to inspire other young people in learning how to code to solve everyday problems in our world, and I will be sharing my journey with Geogsmart on the Geogsmart developer blog.

My game crashed and I lost all my progress but good game other than that

This app is amazing in every way. It just need to add more variety of questions in the ap human geography section.

Perfect for APHG!

I just downloaded this app, but I just wanted to leave a review because I am super impressed with how everything is laid out and organized, there is sections in the app so you can go exactly where you need too. I originally downloaded this to learn just about maps and where place are located, but since there was a APHG section I decided why not, thus I am taking the exam this May. I finished a section of APHG, perfect for reviewing main points and vocabulary! There is literally no flaws in this app, I 100% recommend. This app needs more recommendations, I will try my best to spread it because this app is slept on. Keep up the good work :)

great for ap human geography!

this app has saved me many times for human geography. my grades have definitely improved since i’ve downloaded this app. i think the biggest reason i love this app is because it’s made by a junior in highschool, which is extremely helpful. because they’re a student themselves, they know the level of difficulty with tests, exams, and quizzes. they understand what we need to review, and what we need to focus on because they experienced that it first hand.

Amazing App!

This app is amazing to study geography. I also love the UI. The badge system and XP make it also more fun to study.

This is a wonderful app that I am using for my AP Human Geography class. The colors and icons are all very smooth, neat, and well-programmed. One suggestion I have however, could the delay after answering a question correctly be reduced? It feels a bit too long and I would greatly appreciate it if this change was made. Besides this, the app is pretty much perfect!
