Gett - The taxi app

The app provide a lump sum fare as receipt which is great. What can further improve the credibility to the app and even the taxi industry as a whole is to ensure the journey has correctly reflected the distance travelled and the corresponding price per meter so that there won’t be any arguments on spot. While a great initiative which other app has similar functions too.

Great app that easily locates you location and find the destination address. The driver’s info is clear and transparent and makes the ride feel safe. The app pairs me with a driver within minutes. The application also gives you an estimated time of arrival and the route it will take so you know where you are going as well. A must-have in cities that don’t have public transportation throughout the day.

Great service, but be aware extra charges and fees they charge for everything, including a booking fee, charge per bag as I traveled to the airport with my 3 children they even charged me for an extra 3rd passenger for my son! Charges are not very transparent ahead of time. 😞

Forget Uber and all that private car rubbish. Get a professional cab driver in a proper cab and support an important and valuable part of London's heritage.

First, the app makes inaccurate detection of the locations. In my experience, the diver stopped at somewhere on another side of the road when pick me. I am a tourist without local phone card so i could not call him, though in the remarks i asked the driver to whatsapp me when he arrives but he didn't, while the app didn't provide chat box... I had to cross the road with a heavy luggage under the rain to get on the taxi, while i called taxi at the beginning because i didn't want to walk under the rain! Also, the actual fares and time were a DOUBLE than the estimated ones. I was very surprised on the differences. I contacted the customer care afterwards and the reply was that the estimate does not consider traffic. Btw, not until i got the receipt from e-mail that i didn't know there was also an additional charge for the high demand period order, this amount was not shown prominently in the order process. At the end, I also gave some recommendations and there was no further response from the CS. I'm really frustrated by the experience and I believe that there are better transportation app out there in the market. Please consider carefully before you decide to use Gett.
