We wanted to do a history/ghost tour but didn't book in time. We found this and decided to do it ourselves and we had such a blast! My only recommendation would be if you have a portable speaker it would help. It can be a noisy City and hard to hear on the speakers from a phone.
Lots of fun!
This is a great New Orleans app. If you want to do a ghost tour and don't want to join a group, it's a handy option. All the sites are in the French Quarter area - very walkable. The audio feature is helpful if you're touring after dark.
Updates are excellent!
I just downloaded the new version, and it's great! Now there are 18 sights to visit. There is a map and lots of photos, and you just tap a button to listen to the audio while you look around. It's a great tour for $2.
I love ghost tours
And this one did not disappoint! I like getting to see the more unusual parts of cities, and getting to hear bits of history along the way. This app fit the bill. I was there as a tourist, but I'd recommend it for both locals and tourists.
Best tour app I’ve tried
I’ve tried tour apps in a few different cities - NYC, London, Chicago. But this was my favorite so far, largely because it combined a haunted theme with bars and history. Not dull at all. I also liked that it lead you from one site to the next, as opposed to some city apps where you have to figure out your own way.
Terrible!
Obviously the 5 review was from the creator. The 11 sites you see are IT! I thought it would have been nice to walk around with the audio playing but there are just not enough places to enjoy this app.
Nice tour
Tour took us to some very cool bars that all were of a unique vibe. Most of the bartenders weren't familiar with the stories but they had some of their own. Nicely done!
Wicked Walks is a winner!
I don't just say that because the creators are awesome and 2 doors down from me, but this is a great app. Fun to do with a friend, lots of entertainment. Thanks and looking forward to your next one!
Could be so much more
I am very disappointed that this app has only 9 places included in the walk! When I saw the screenshot of the list, I assumed there must be more places to visit if one scrolled the list. Having been to NOLA four different times, I was really hoping to discover a gem I'd missed. Sadly, I won't find that gem with this app. What about "The Dungeon" Bar? It has a sinister haunted history. What about Johnny White's?
These same 9 bars are listed on Squidoo if you search "Haunted New Orleans Bars." I wonder who copied whom?
A waste of $3.99, I would probably delete this app even if it were free.
much better value than a guided tour
the ghost stories are a fun read on their own, but combined with some yummy drinks & eats the tour really highlights some of the best reasons to visit new orleans! fun & definitely a good value.
