The idea of the app is brilliant but, when it comes to using the app you only get fisheries and lakes etc… I’m a shore angler and want to see info on beaches and catches from the shore with deals/offers for sea fishing. When I downloaded the app I put my fishing preference to sea fishing, expecting that would put sea/shore fishing as the main content on the app but it doesn’t. With this it does make the app quite useless to me and possibly others and would wonder if this would get looked at as this could become a great app for the Sea fisher aswell as the Frish water angler.
It appears that fishing doesn’t exist in the north east or above. Poor really
Only recently downloaded the app, as just trying to get time to get back into fishing again love the layout of the app and like the features. But the distinct lack of fisheries in the north east of England is very disappointing as I know there are a lot in East Yorkshire alone which would be good to see on the app as at the moment the biggest amount of fisheries seems to be south of the Humber.
The app has rendered a venue I want to fish inaccessible, each time I attempt to book I get a blank screen in the app. The fishery will no longer accept bookings by phone or in person. Useless.
Had to re-schedule a session short notice and done with app. A team member responded quickly and changed my dates so i didn't loose my money. Super! Very easy to use app.
Select venue etc, try to book and I just get the loading icon spinning and won’t work … bring back pay the bailiff on the bank method that has worked for years, trying to re-invent the wheel here.
Our club was working with an online day ticket seller- they were great but went bust trying to service the anglers for a few % on booking fees. Found Catch and moved our business to this platform. Only live since March 2024 but so far it’s proven as effective from a fisheries point of view. I know there are issues getting anglers on board / signing up and navigating the site, it can only improve with time. Our club is run by volunteers, fellow anglers trying to keep the fishery in the best condition possible for all anglers. Time and effort many don’t see and even less appreciate on the ground. Theres a lot of bad reviews here, most relate to being charged a fee, for something they see the fisheries should cover ….. that just gets passed back to members and guests. This product does give the angler options and opportunities to keep their costs down. As a client, I’m happy, sure it could be better and having talked to the support staff, it will continue to improve. As a volunteer running a fishery , it’s a massive improvement on trying to find outlets to sell tickets, which get lost, funds misplaced and outlets not open at 5am when someone wakes up and wants to fish. Long review- in short - if you ain’t happy with the service, drop them a line. Then think about how the fisheries recover the costs of the alternative options. Get a grip - it’s fishing for fun stop moaning
Personally think the whole catch idea is a great principal and an effective way to sort out where and when you’re fishing. The only thing I would change is how the booking system works, personally I think the app could be better if you just booked to be on the venue for a certain amount of time instead of booking a peg turning up and realising that everything is against you. Giving you that feeling of defeat before you’ve wet a line
Booking fees / needing to subscribe to avoid them is a rip off. You reply to justify it with technology in the background etc etc but this is all smoke and mirrors. Fisheries managed without your technology for hundreds of years, this app is to make the developers money and nothing else, all you do is act as a middle man in a transaction that's always worked without you. Avoid and pay the fishery directly!!
