Golfboy:Launch Monitor

Simulator,Putt,Swing Analysis

Published by: Qoncept

Description

Golfboy is a golf ball trajectory measurement application.
It can be used by anyone as long as they have an iPhone and a tripod (see iPhone model requirements below).
It uses image analysis technology to measure flying distance, ball speed, launch angle, club speed, etc. in real time.
It also has a course simulation function for more realistic practice.
Putt measurement and automatic recording of swing videos are also available to support all kinds of golf training.
Golfboy uses our self-developed sports analysis technology to make golf more fun and efficient for the general public. Golfboy has been tested against laser-based distance measuring devices already on the market, and accuracy has been improved to the point where it can be used in practice, to take your golf to the next level.
+ Golfboy is a great way to improve your golf.
+ It is useful for getting a feel for the distance and trajectory of your shots.
+ You can use the app not only at an outdoor driving range, but also indoors or on the course.
+ If you're practicing with a friend, you can use two iPhones and the included pairing function to automatically capture your swing video with shot data on it.
+ In "Round mode", you can use Golfboy's original virtual courses to simulate practicing on a real course.
The "Form mode" is available on iPhoneSE2 and iPhone11 or later.
Golfboy can measure different distances depending on the lens used on the iPhone.
+ In the case of iPhones with ultra wide angle lenses (assuming the use of a tripod at a height of 4.0ft[1.2m]) It is possible to measure distances of up to 280 yards.
+ If your iPhone does not have the ultra wide angle lens (assuming you use a tripod at a height of 4.0ft[1.2m]),
the distance can be measured up to 220yd.
The distance can be increased by raising the height of the tripod.
If the lighting is too dark or it is difficult to distinguish the color of the ball from the background, the measurement may not be possible. Please check the operation in your preferred environment during the free trial period.

Great startup.

Didn’t work

Had everything lined up and ready, hit the ball and just got a pinwheel. No data or anything

Loving my Golfboy!

I have been using the Golfboy app for about a month and I am really impressed with all that it provides.

Not Consistent

We used this successfully for about two days and then for no reason at all, it stopped recognizing any balls. The tripod height is accurate, we’re hitting off of a 6’x6’ mat and the lighting settings are on auto. We’ve tried resetting all of these things and updating the tripod height to various new heights but nothing has worked.

Ultimate Golf App

It's amazing to find so many features packed into a single app!! The support is also attentive and outstanding.

Great app! Could be greater!

I love the simple nature of the app and the courses for a simple simulator. Although it would be incredibly better if you could publish 9-18 hole courses from the course builder section into the course play section of the app. I would love to be able to replicate some of my home courses into the app.

Doesn’t work

I’ve tried multiple tripods at different heights, have adequate lighting, grass, artificial turf, can’t get it to read shots. On top of that if I select right handed golfer, the arrow with the direction to swing wants me to swing left handed. Like the concept, but it does not work at all

Hit not registering

I just tried this for almost two hours. First, I side with foam balls on synthetic turf hitting my 52 into the wall. Out of 20 shots I was able to get 3 recorded. So I thought it was probably poor lighting in my house. So I took it outside. Tried both a shaded area and sunny area with real balls on my lawn. Two shots out of 20 registered. I tried different angles of the camera. I tried lowering and raising the tripod. My setup is iPhone 12 Pro with a 4’ tall tripod. White balls. Cannot get it to work at all. Really disappointed as I was fully willing to pay a monthly subscription for feedback on my distances so I could get this new set of clubs dialed in without going to pay for range balls.

Only works 1 out of 10 try’s

Love the idea and all the review videos but after many attempts I can’t get it to read more than 1 out of 10 shots unfortunately.

Awesome!

I love this app, so glad I tried this before paying hundreds of dollars for a launch monitor. I did calibrated a little bit so my phone is at 4 feet but I said the registered height to 4’6” and it seems to be much more reasonable. After this adjustment, the measurements seem much more reasonable and more importantly from shot to shot seems very consistent from a relative basis. It is so helpful to take a swing and see in instant replay to provide feedback on whatever it is that I’m working on. I’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but I have to say this is the best money I’ve spent on an app in a very long time.
