Good Energy was founded in 1999 with the ambition to tackle climate change by generating and supporting renewable energy. Our electricity is 100% renewable, generated here in the UK from sun, wind and water. Our gas is carbon neutral. We also pioneered support for people generating their own clean electricity – something that we continue to support today.
Open up a window on your energy usage with our new mobile app. Download it for free to discover new features to help you manage your Good Energy account.
Quick and easy access
No need to remember yet more account numbers and passwords. Once you’ve registered for the app, you’ll be able to log in securely using just your email address and postcode.
Submit new meter readings – and see your past ones
Enter readings for standard and multi-rate meters using pre-stored details. Sending regular meter readings will help us make sure your bills are accurate. So, you can even set up reminders to help you remember to take them.
If you’re one of our Feed-in Tariff customers, you can submit your FiT readings, too.
Another way to pay
View your current balance and past statements, at a glance and in full. Pay bills through the app using a credit or debit card.

To be honest the app has always felt a bit amateurish but it has improved very gradually over the years.
The most annoying thing is the over enthusiastic password requirements and the need for it to be entered every time you log in (which is basically once every 3 months for most people to submit their FIT reading).
As a result I can never remember the password and have to reset every time.
Touch / Face ID is the obvious solution it doesn’t feel like app development is top priority and/or the capability of the dev team just isn’t there. I hope you’re not paying contractors for this!
Also like other reviewers said the time would be better spent improving the functionality / layout / structure of the app than keep iterating on different user unfriendly ways/layout to enter the meter read.
I like the company. I don’t like the app. Sorry.
Better than the app
The services provided by good energy are better than their app
Can’t get log in details
I have been trying for weeks through both the website and app to register an account. The automated email confirmation link, does not come through and no one seems to be able to help me resolve it!
App is basic
Disappointed that the app doesn’t have more to it.
Easy meter reads
Works well, it is easy to use and allows you to review the last year of usage clearly. It even switches on the smartphone torch to allow you to see in the meter cupboard. Just right.
Basic design flaw prevents entering some readings
If your last electricity reading was 0, due to a new meter, the app only allows 1 digit for your next reading. A pretty basic design flaw.
Great company!
First off the block and still strong!
Much improved
The app has improved a lot recently. Signing in is smooth now and features in the app load pretty quickly.
My only gripe now is that entering meter readings is too gimmicky. It would be better to be able to just enter the value directly without having to work out which digit to click on first. Or at least treat it like a calculator where you fill digits from the right.
Better yet, use the camera to scan the reading directly using the iOS vision framework, which makes that kind of thing really easy.
Feed-in Tariff
I can’t enter my FiT readings for the past quarter through this app, or through the web portal. Any idea why?
Doesn’t handle larger fonts
Makes entering a reading straightforward but have to guess at the endings of words because anything other than default sized iPhone fonts cause truncation.
As other users have stated - ‘it just doesn’t work’ and good energy don’t seem to care. If you need to enter meter readings you HAVE TO go to the website instead!
