Ich nutze diese App schon über viele Jahre. Und ich muß sagen, es gab noch nie Probleme irgendwelcher Art. Es ist die sinnvollste und meist genutzte App von mir.

21.7.23 Ich habe mehrmals (4-5) bei Good Reader angefragt, ob man Dateien oder Texte auf Wiedervorlage setzen kann, aber noch nie eine Antwort erhalten.
Favorite pdf reader with room for improvement
I installed the pro version app two days ago. I bought the pro version for 89Euro one-time purchase. It's expensive, but I would never have taken out a monthly subscription. Basically, I think it's good. I use it to study for an online degree. I especially like that you can open two pdf files side by side. I also use the function to crop the pages. What I have noticed negatively so far is that the text blurs when scrolling. Would be nice if there is an update for this in the future. I use an iPad Air 5.
Sehr praktisch & sehr sicher möglich!
Soweit ich sehe gilt noch immer alles. Da es mich weiterhin so begeistert, bewerte ich wiederholt und hoffe, dass diese tolle App nie stirbt und immr so gut nutzbar bleibt. Alter Text, aber gilt weiterhin: Toll ist, man kann nicht nur Dateien & Ordner lokal speichern (wie in vielen Apps), sondern man kann auch lokale Ordner definieren, die mit dem gewählten externen Speicher synchronisiert werden. Und dies können viele Speicherarten sein (z.B. iCloud, Webdav(s), UND AUCH: FTP(S), SFTP, und mehr, die ich momentan nicht verwende). Gerade zuerst erwähnte Remote Speicher sind mir sehr wichtig. UND man kann auf dem iPad selbst Ordner zusätzlich mit einer Verschlüsselung noch mehr absichern (also auch, wenn man es schafft das iOS-Gerät zu entsperren). Sehr praktisch seit iOS 13/iPadOS 13 ist auch split view (z.B. man kann Goodreader zum Lesen eines Programmierhandbuchs verwenden und an der anderen Seite ein Browser-Fenster offen haben, um gewisse Details oder Erklärungen nachschauen zu können). Was sehr praktisch ist, ist die Kombination mit iA Writer, mit dem man Markdown-Dokumente recht gut schreiben kann. Problematisch ist aber das Einbetten von Bildern im Markdown-Dokument bei iA Writer. In dieser anderen App kann man leider keine Bilder direkt einbetten. Es geht aber mit iCloud. Wenn man dies aus guten Gründen wegen Datenschutz nicht will oder kann, dann kann man den Umweg über "Files" (im deutschen iOS "Dateien") nehmen. Man speichert die nötigen Dateien in Goodreader lokal. Goodreader kann man dann wiederum für die Synchronisation mit einem Netzwerkspeicher verwenden. iA Writer bietet eine solche Funktion leider nicht, aber mit Goodreader ist dieser Workaround möglich. Bei Readdle-Produkten (Documents & PDF Expert) werden die externen Dateien in einer speziellen Rubrik aufgelistet. Diese tauchen dann aber nicht in "Files"/"Dateien" auf, weshalb mit diesen Produkten dieser Umweg nicht möglich ist. Zudem ist Readdles PDF Expert kein richtiges Pro mehr (benötigt Abo, wenn man alle Funktionen zur Verfügung haben möchte). Dieses Pro ist zwar oberflächlich teuer, aber aufgrund Funktionsvielfalt, Stabilität, Sicherheit und guter Handhabungsmöglichkeit (ist lediglich etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig und man sollte sich etwas einlernen, um das volle Potential ausschöpfen zu können) ist diese App jeden Cent und Euro wert! Wie es mit der Eindeutschung aussieht, weiß ich leider nicht, da ich alles auf Englisch eingestellt habe, aber ich sehe nicht einen Hinderungsgrund für

Ich nutze die App in verschiedenen Versionen seit Jahren. Zum Organisieren der Dokumente, zum Betrachten und Kommentieren eignet sie sich sehr gut.

I just miss one very essential feature: a slider on the right side for any PDF document to scroll vertically through the pages as it is possible in Acrobat Reader and PSF Expert Pro.

Als langjähriger Kunde sage ich Danke für viele Jahre GoodReader. Ja, die App ist mit 80 € ganz schön teuer, aber es ist auch die einzige App im App Store, die mir das wert ist.

Dieses Programm ist einfach nur spitze. Gibt keinen besseren Reader für PDF‘s.
