The browser on my phone stopped opening today. Restarting didn't help. I'm waiting...

Crashes constantly, have to reboot the app. But very inconvenient if searching for something important

there is a feature i want to disable and i could not find in google search itself how to do it in ipadOS/iOS. every time i open google chrome, it opens a new tab, regardless of where i was in my many other tabs. there are sp many tabs, it's easy for me to lose my place and keep searching in tabs for what i was doing. at least it used to have "return to .... tab" in the new tab before so i could spring back to it. (tho it didn't close a new tab automatically when i'd jump back.) now after update, a new tab still opens every time, but there's no more 'return to" option displayed. it's very upsetting how overall google search has been getting worse and worse, then google maps went down with new low contrast colours which i can't distinguish well enough between (unlike previous maps good colour scheme) so it's very difficult to use google maps now, now google chrome is going futher down the drain as well? sigh. i've been holding onto google for as long as i could, thinking how convenient it was, but now that convenience of design (and reliability of google search) are seriously degrading, little by little i am forced to look for and use alternative options for my net-needs. did humans have an idea to change and then changed google maps colour scheme? it feels like (feels because i don't know it) google might be pouring all of its resources into ai development, so other services are suffering immensely from lack of resources/attention/whatever else should be allocated to it and therefore are degrading. or, perhaps, automation/ai/whatever else idk, is already running services at such a scale that little human input is necessary, and when humans tell it "ai, the map colour scheme is really low contrast now to my human eye so it's difficult to use for me" - the automation dismisses it already? is that a case of automation already dismissing/overriding human input? i've been using google since at least 2006, and it's never been so bad....what is going on there? now after latest update in 2025/03 chrome always opens a new tab when i start chrome, without an option to "go back" to the tab i was on, and without an option in the settings to turn off this automatic new tab nonsense. when will it be fixed? 2025-03-30 after latest update, still opens new tabs on startup without ability to return to previous tab! no settings to prevent this! 2025-05-04 chrome still opens new tab on startup and still no option to return to previous tab. that is very inconvenient when i have

Lately chrome started to freeze. It occurs after changing between the apps. In order to unfreeze it, I have to close the app and open it again.

I opened Chrome and there are 0 of my private tabs left. This low quality software has lost all my open private tabs! That’s just unbelievable. Such a garbage. Chrome devs, remember that user's data is extremely important and your low quality code has just wiped it.
