Think of Grapes as an index of chords and scales for a guitarist.
Finding a concise app containing a detailed list of the modes was impossible. Grapes has a simple display without any of the complexity of other guitar apps, while still offering an in-depth collection of scales. We've also included a book of chords.
To simplify the process of memorizing scales, we have a “Modes” section, which helps illustrate each mode’s unique shape.
- Includes All 28 modes made from the 4 heptatonic scales: Major, Melodic Minor, Harmonic Minor and Harmonic Major.
- Also includes the Pentatonic scale and it’s modes, as well as 5 symmetrical scales.
- Horizontal fretboard display
- Chord book
- Prevent screen lock capability

The best tool for memorizing guitar scales
I love how clean and organized it is, making it easy to see the scale shapes visually. The only improvement I'd love to see is displaying the intervals for each note.

Simple & Clean
Very simple, but effective interface with some subtle animation sprinkled in. Appreciate you giving this great little tool away for free Zach! Would love to be able to zoom out slightly so the whole fretboard could fit onto my screen in the near future. And to create duplicates of favorited chords to organize them into groups.
Error with how things are displayed
I love that it is free, how customizable it is, and easy to use. But things aren’t lining up correctly with the fret board background and the scales

Fantastic and minimalist! All you really need. My only wish/qualm is that there isn’t a bass mode. I know you can garner the same info from the fretboard, but it’s much easier visually when the B and E string aren’t there to draw attention. Dats my two cents. Cheers!

After downloading 10+ scale apps, I’ve found that this is the only one to get it right. Simple, easy to use, comprehensive, can turn your phone for profile and landscape modes, plus it’s free!

This is a fast way to zip through various scales, away from the guitar, and see which notes are changing as you change roots or modes. Works very well and it is enjoyable to use. Thanks for putting this together!

Simplicity at its best— shows patterns very clearly— this is the best presentation of this material in the App Store!! Only one request — please consider functionality for other instruments extended range instruments Like 7 string guitar, 5 string bass, mandolin, etc
