Tried using the app as I’ve just recently joined a climbing gym, the gym uses this app to track a see routes (that’s what im told) I haven’t seen myself as it is impossible to get past the sign in page. The screen goes white and the green tab gets stuck to the top of the screen.
I see in recent updates of the app minor bug fixes where addressed however I think there needs a major bug wipe on the app or simply change the foundation that the app is made from as I see in other reviews the app has been going more and more downhill the the app’s performance.
I seriously doubt anything will be done from this review. But it’s sad as it’s the only app the gym uses
Buggy
The app is so buggy and laggy that I can’t believe that they are trying to sell subscriptions for it.
Nice design, just missing a few features to be excellent.
Very well designed and easy to use, logging climbs is very quick, but some of the analysis could do with some work. It would be good to be able to sort the climbs you’ve completed by grades when comparing against others so you can compare the hardest rather than the most recent. The league table is also skewed in favour of people who log every climb including warmups, it would be nice to have a league of the top ten climbs, even though this would move me down the list!
I can’t find a good way to track progress either, maybe a line graph of points or top ten grades over time?
One more nice to have feature would be integration with health apps to help me with my health insurance, e.g. Google fit and Apple health.
It’s the most popular app with gyms, hopefully it can be the best too!
Getting worse, greedy business model
Ticking off and tracking climbs should be easy, yet the UI and bugs you sometimes run into make it harder than needed. Overall it was useful enough.
Now they’ve hidden basic filters like the grade behind their pro paywall. I’ll never buy pro but I will give a 1* review and make sure to actively not recommend people use this app anymore.
What’s going on recently?
First of all, the app is great but in last couple of months it’s got beyond buggy. I’m a premium member and app just hasnt filtered anything properly for a couple of weeks - using any of the filtering options. The ‘feed’ has so much potential but it super glitchy too. Come on lads get it together because it’s not far off being perfect.
Sadly so frustrating
Been using this app for years and it’s got worse and worse… to the point where I’m now actually needing to review it in the hope it’ll improve. As time goes on this app gets more bugs and more glitches, it’s functionality is now so compromised I’m unable to even track my climbs. Each click seems to crash the app and boot me out unexpectedly. This is a wonderful concept but seems to now be totally useless to serve its purpose. Sadly it’s got to the point where it’s so bad it can’t even be opened, the second you try navigating to a different page, BOOTED OUT. Please please please just make this app function again.
Filters should not be a premium feature
These snakes have locked grade filters behind a paywall, which is a despicable cashgrabbing move. this is a basic feature that should be in the free version, I am appalled that they would screw their community like this
Pay to Filter by Grade
New upgrade hides filtering routes by grade behind the pro subscription. This basic feature used to be free.
The Pro subscription model is marketed as adding AI features to enhance your climbing training. FILTERS ARE NOT AI.
This is not a move that will make people want to pay. This is a move that will make people leave this app.
Love it!
Makes climbing even more fun than ever as it feels like a game trying to tick off as many climbs as possible! Great way to track progress, to motivate progression and trying harder grades, and to see the exact grade of the climbs. My choice of gym in my town is determined by the fact one gym uses this app and the other doesn’t!
couldn’t get past the sign up page
was keen to try the app however on downloading it wouldn’t let me sign up, when i would put my details in and press the submit button nothing would happen. I contacted the support team, who were lovely but not very helpful in the end.
I sent over a screen recording of what i was experiencing and got the basic response uninstall and reinstall which I’d already tried. In the screen recording my password wasn’t visible due to IOS privacy reasons which i looked up to check it was definite, I was told to input a password, which i had many times. After explaining that i had it just doesn’t show up i got no more replies and still got no further on the app.
So although the team did seem helpful at the start it seems like they only gave me two basic suggestions, implying that the issue was on my part, then gave up. Would’ve liked to try the app but will be deleting unfortunately.
