学校が終わり、帰宅途中のミサキとマコトは、廊下にある鏡をくぐると、突然、自分たちの鏡像のような奇妙な世界に迷い込んでしまう。彼らは脱出方法を見つけようとしますが、通ってきた扉が消えてしまい、立ち往生してしまいます。
鏡の世界を探索すると、自分自身の映り込みも含め、すべてが逆向きに反転しているように見えることに気づきます。彼らはまた、自分たちが一人ではないことにも気づきます。学校の他の生徒もこの世界に閉じ込められています。
ミサキとマコトは他の生徒たちとチームを組み、協力してミラーワールドの謎を解き明かします。彼らは、鏡の世界が自分たちの世界を反映しているだけでなく、彼らの最も深い欲望と恐怖が現れる場所でもあることに気づきます。
彼らが元の世界に戻る方法を見つけようとするとき、危険な生き物や彼らを欺こうとする幻想など、多くの課題や障害に遭遇します。しかし、鏡の世界について誰よりも詳しいと思われる謎の少女など、思わぬ協力者も現れる。
