Guilt Free Bible Reading Plan

Description

This bible reading plan grew out of the author’s own frustration with calendar-based bible reading plans which all seemed to have a built-in failure element to them - the clock, the calendar and the reality that things beyond our control are simply a way of life.
So, laying aside the seeming “sacredness” of a 365 schedule, the plan allows a follower to conduct his daily reading at a pace dictated by God rather than by the calendar, all the while maintaining the goal of reading the entire content of scripture in a comprehensive way.
The plan has been used effectively by many Christians spanning forty years. We now gladly offer it to the church at large, with the prayer that many will, by use of the app, “desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby”.

Guilt Free Bible Reading Plan Reviews

Finally. Finally. Finally. Exactly what I wanted!

I woke up and thought, “I really just want a checklist of all the Bible books and chapters to keep track of what I’ve read. I don’t read on a calendar based. I found this and it is perfect!

Great app but Job is missing

I really like this app to keep track of what I’ve read but when I looked through the Old Testament list Job is MIA. I didn’t check if you’re still doing updates to the app but I’d give it 5 stars if it weren’t for that.

Great app

Being able to keep track of my reading progress and leave notes makes for a very good app. Works great for my application. It could use a dark mode, but I’m not complaining! Still very very good without it.

An awesome app!

I love this app as I always know where I should start reading each day. It is very helpful to be able to pull up and see where I left off. It is a great way to read/study the Bible as I just take my time. Other plans can leave me feeling guilty if I don’t read the scheduled number of verses.

Love it!

This is exactly what I wanted. I love that I can follow their plan if I don't know what I want to read, but it's easy to hop around if I have my own plan. Mostly, I am grateful that every time I open the app, I'm reminded that there is no guilt. I can approach the Word free of expectations.

Gives me freedom to read at my own pace.

I love this Bible reading plan for a number of reasons 1) it eliminates the built-in failure factor that most reading plans have - a slavery to the calendar. Things happen in life and I cannot always keep up with a plan based on the calendar. Then if I fall behind, I either speed read or just skip over the portion I missed. Either way, it promotes a very subtle guilt that I, a serious follower of Christ, cannot keep up with a reading plan I have committed to. 2) I love the way it breaks up the Psalms and Proverbs in the old testament, and does the same thing with the gospels in the new testament, so that I am neither bogged down reading 150 Psalms in a row, four gospels in a row, but they are broken up and sprinkled throughout my day-to-day reading. 3) I love that when God meets me in a particular verse, or if I feel a special urge to study a verse that has gotten my attention, that I have the flexibility to stop and engage, pray over and study that verse as long as I want before moving on. The access to the bibles within the app are limited and a bit quirky, but I read out of my own personal bible anyway. I think those bibles are there for access in a pinch of you don't have your personal bible ready. So I pretty much ignore them. To me, this is the perfect Bible reading plan!
