Love the service hate the app
I love Guru, their website, Google chrome extension, however I hate the app. It doesn’t allow you to do anything apart from viewing the articles. What about editing them? Creating new collections, new cards, etc.

This app is really outdated and doesn’t give the same vibe as the web version. Do not recommend, at all.
The website and service is so good, it’s bizarre how bad the app is. This is one of my favorite sites but the app is worthless and basically non functional. You can only search. You can’t switch between workspaces/teams. I don’t know why they decided to put zero effort or results into the app. It would be great if Guru was accessible on mobile.
This app really needs work. Developer probably knows, but it’s a dealbreaker for our company. We need to be able to look up information on mobile effectively and efficiently and this app doesn’t allow us to
You guys have to get deep links working. I shouldn’t have to sign in on mobile web to open a card when I have the app installed.
It is a beautiful knowledge-based system. I love them, and everyone needs them, even if you don’t know them. If you don’t like the app, try the site or the chrome extension. This allows you to create a knowledge base system and have to access it on multiple platforms outside of iPads and Safari. It probably is my only complaint but other than that, because it’s free, and it’s so tacky to complain about a gift. I like to keep everything on record and be able to search for it, just like when I deal with other entities, and they have a history and database on how to deal with me and what information was conveyed to them regarding our relations Guru docs allow me to manage: Allows me to manage my human experience in this life from A-Z, along with my elderly parents: - Bills - Mail - Doctors’ appointments - Medical history - And any other documents that I need to reference quickly. When I mean A-Z, I mean it. It is like having a digital notebook that you can break up into multiple sections within a section, especially for people like me who have ADHD and deal with everything that life intertwines with on a different level than most people. I like to go to my Guru Docs like most of us use Google to reference things. With the integration with Google docs and HubSpot (Free), you are a winning dream team for organization at no cost. Once you see what it is worth, you’ll be down to pay for the regular services that allow you to integrate more. Please make an iPad app and Safari extension because Google Chrome does take up a lot of bandwidth. This is definitely ideal for remote students, employees, freelancers or just anyone who is seeking to be organized in todays world.
The app is only for searching card content. You can’t browse collections, comment, or really anything else you might want to do in an app. I don’t expect to be able to do everything you can do on the website, but there are core basics that are necessary for this app to be useful. Browsing and commenting are among them. The mobile website is pretty bad. The app is worse. Stick to the regular website where Guru really shines.
Guru is truly a fantastic, lightweight knowledge management product. My team of over 100 people use it everyday, and find it to be the perfect balance of power and simplicity, and recommend the browser-based UI to anyone. However, it seems that the iOS app is an effort to “check the box” and say they have an app - but the app is near useless. It DOES let you search and view content. Great. What about commenting? nope. What about creating new cards? Nope. What about editing existing cards or adding tags? nope. It’s purely a content access app - while there is some value in that, it barely scratches the surface of what people would want to do on a mobile device (commenting, for example)
I like the guru site but this app is dismal. It is iPhone only and I want to use it on my iPad. It runs but only lets me see recent notes or search. It does not let me navigate the hierarchy of entries created on the site. I’ll stick with a browser until they come out with a true iPad app.
not compatible with iPad cannot rotate screen or search when working on iPad!
