Gyde – Thermogauge

Used to love this app, had a few annoying traits but loved how it was so easy control my controllers which I used with both Gervinho and Warm and Safe gear. iOS 16 comes out and it crashes when tying to sync. FIX IT!

I have used the Gyde device and it’s associated app since Oct. 2019. Like other reviewers, I was initially very happy with the app. Over the last year however, problems are creeping in with the app functionality. The “Agree/OK” button now comes up repeatedly after initially connecting through Bluetooth. Sometimes have to hit it over a dozen times. Increasingly the Bluetooth link is disconnecting. Can re-scan and get it to re-connect, only to have it disconnect sometimes in less than a minute, other times not for 10 or 15 minutes. I cleaned all the electrical connectors today, thinking maybe there is a momentary power outage to the unit. I rode for about 5 minutes and the app disconnected from the Gyde unit. I re-scanned and connected. Rode for about an hour and it did not disconnect. So we’ll see how it goes. It would seem that with all the updates that iPhone and Android phones have gone through over the last 6 years, that the app developer would have released an update. Might help the connection/dis-connection issues.

Connected everything properly to the bike battery via fused connector, downloaded and activated software and then… Nothing. Sure, the app will scan for new devices but without fail goes to disconnect. Bluetooth setting won’t see it either, so the problem is either the device itself or the app you need to control it. Gyde’sWebsite doesn’t even mention the device, although it’s clearly printed upon it. For the briefest of mentions, you have to go to the Gerbing site, which provides no troubleshooting tips or a step-by-step guide or even a link back to Gyde. Another Holiday return.

I was annoyed when I discovered the only when to change the level was via the battery in my pocket. Then I found the app and thought *great*. Except it won’t connect. Incredibly frustrating.

No updates. Have to continuously hit agree throughout the ride.

This app is fantastic - makes it so easy to adjust temp!

This app is super easy to use. When I setup my jacket I was expecting it to be like a Bluetooth speaker setup but it's actually even easier. All the setup happens within the app. Once you go into the app and turn on the jacket battery the first time you connect right to the jacket for the first and final time. The company did a nice job of simplifying the process.
