Really great app and concept, needs more content

LJM2002 on

This app was really helpful when i first started it made doing tasks very rewarding, but now once i’ve got to a higher level, getting exp and levelling up doesn’t feel as rewarding as its sort of become routine and levels don’t really mean as much when you’ve already levelled up many times. And bosses don’t that challenging when you complete all dailies. I feel like the game needs more content and stuff to do/complete/unlock to make it consistently rewarding even at higher levels. Perhaps something like dungeons with exclusive rewards which require a certain amount of tasks to be done in a limited time or in one day to open doors, or a certain number of habits. Maybe some animations and backgrounds could be cool too when you deal damage to a boss, to make the game more stimulating. I really do love the concept and think it can be very successful if you struggle with productivity, but i feel more can be done to gamify it further to make doing tasks just as rewarding as a video game.

Poor quality, too simple

CountryCousin on

I had this app on my phone for an hour and deleted it. Main issue is you can set a task to be completed once a day, once a week or once a month only - nothing in between. How about if I want to visit the gym twice a week? Also, the user forum (called a guild) is buggy. I wasn’t able to ask a question without it being added as a reply to an existing message. Tried many times, was definitely not tapping on “reply”. As this is the only way to get help, that’s a dealbreaker for me.

Love

I love this app, it is super fun and motivating! The only feedback I have is that it’s a tiny bit complicated with lots of extras in the menu but otherwise it is brill

Rude staff, buggy app

WarmAndWoollySocks on

As an app, Habitica is buggy, slow to load and lacking in features with no significant new releases in years. But the staff promote the vibrant community as a major USP for their app. And it was vibrant... until they removed fired their moderation team with no preparation, alienated all volunteers on the platform and posted rude and threatening messages, violating their own community guidelines. Anyone speaking up against these changes is being muted or banned with no explanation. Give your custom to a deserving company, not this one. Habitica; Do Better.

Too complex, I don’t like the game it’s a bit random

clairezzzzz111222333 on

I just downloaded this and it seems it would take up my time rather than make me more productive. I don’t like the game or the user interface. The pixelated graphics are very niche for those that like retro games, but i personally don’t like the look of these. Good idea to have it as a game though . I just Dont find it useful … sorry

Default character is a weird choice

Sparrow ash on

Let me guess I start as a ginger black woman because you want to stick it to the white patriarchy? Because it wouldn’t surprise me if the majority of this apps users are most likely male if not white as well, so this seems like an overt attempt to pander to people that probably don’t even appreciate this overt sociopolitical pandering. Here I am trying to track my life habits and yet immediately I feel like the devs are trying to make a political statement wit that

Nice app, could be more polished

LauraLkkk on

It is difficult to figure out certain features at first

Silly

hdususj on

Why is plus on the left and minus on the right makes no sense

A few extra features would make this gold

Thunderbolt284 on

There are a few tiny extra features would push this app from silver to gold: 1) ability to give permission to others to see your habits. For close friends/partners, this would help motivate each other to succeed. Obviously some tasks/habits are private and there should be the option to decide which habits to show and which to hide 2) to-do app integration - would be great if this was integrated with Microsoft to-do or todoist, so to-do items are automatically synced between the two

Good app, but needs more

Chengyin Wang on

Could you consider adding few armoire/ avatar badges, so then I would have an idea of my progress of collecting all clothes. PS: You might want to write some single player quests to give more motivations, or something just exciting. Now I am only using Habitica to jot down my to-dos since the function is really neat especially on PC. I run a party and I want to stay with the app and my people. But we are getting tired with the app more and more. Please develop something new and exciting!
