Description

HackerNewt is a Hacker News client that uses an alternative way of displaying comment tree. Advantages over traditional interfaces:
- Comment width doesn't get narrower no matter how deep in the tree you are
- You always see the parent of the comment you're currently reading
- Swiping allows you to move in and out of subtrees with animated transitions that you fully control
- You can easily skip subtrees that don't interest you by simply scrolling
As a result it's easier to maintain the context and to keep track of where you are in the Hacker News discussion tree. There are also: custom boards, search, in-thread search, anchors, reading list, recent items. Enjoy your Hacker News reading experience!

HackerNewt for Hacker News Reviews

Clean, minimal, the best app out there one would want to buy

Kumara Krishnan on

After having used too many clients for HN, I simply started using the mobile site out of frustration. I kist found this app and its just what I wanted. The UI is so clean and minimalistic enhanced by good UX. You can add topics as boards too. Also premium is just one off payment unlike the subscription fad in other apps.

App doesn’t work anymore. Nothing loads at all and spinner just spins. Tried clearing cache and uninstalling and reinstalling app. Disappointed I paid for this. Update 6/5/24 - Developer quickly fixed the issue with the app and responded with the feedback. Kudos for listening to feedback and updating. Updating to 5. Thanks!
