Janky and unreliable

The app works well about 50% of the time, the rest is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Full of UX bugs and terrible network handling.

Great for reading, looking forward to more features

The reading experience in this app is very nice and there are no ads, which is awesome. Just waiting for the ability to reply to and share specific threads.

There are better options

This app seems to lack many of the essential components an app like this should have. Some examples: - ability to comment - ability to favourite posts As well as this, the sensitivity of the sliding gestures is too high and makes going through comments more difficult than it should be.

Good app, but I find the sideways sliding for options is too sensitive (it’s somewhat difficult to scroll vertically).

Smooth experience. Can’t reply from within the app though.

Long press doesn’t work and there’s no option to open comments page in Safari

Very nice app. Can't be opened in shortcuts

So Shortcuts on ios 12 has a new feature that lets you open an app as part of a shortcut. Basically every app supports being opened, even if the app has no official shortcuts support. For some reason this one doesn't. Annoying, because I am building a shortcut that forces me to go through a routine to open any distracting app. Apart from that, the app is great! Love dark mode. Edit: to the developer, I guess to support opening via shortcuts, the app would need to support opening via url schemes. There may be another workaround. Would be a great way to add automation. Incidentally, the workflow I'm using is: * block hn on browser * remove app from siri search * hide it in a folder * add a homescreen shortcut that allows access to the app, after I go through a few steps

Good at what it does, but missing some features.

This is a decent Hacker News client. It’s got at what it does - performance is good, more or less bug-free, etc. Only four stars, though, because it’s missing some key features. Notably, you can’t sign in and upvote / downvote / submit / comment, so it’s read-only. Also, no night / dark mode.
