Crashing on launch!

Crashing a few seconds after launch. iPhone 16 Pro iOS 18.0.

Perfect app, big issue with the subscription tactics

I LOVE the Halide interface. It’s simple and intuitive. It’s honestly perfect. I want to see the app continue and flourish, and I bought it at full price before it went subscription. But… Halide’s ‘new features’ only ever seem to be whatever new, across-the-board hardware and software features Apple has added to the latest iOS and iPhones, re-marketed as amazing new features by Halide worth paying for. (They’re seriously making you pay for Lock Screen widgets. That’s really poor practice I haven’t experienced from any other app). In over a year of paying for it, there’s precisely one new feature of any worth to older phone users - process zero, which, whilst great, is also in other camera apps I own, for free, suggesting to me it’s just an API apple has made available to all. In a way it’s testament to how good Halide is in the first place - there isn’t much to improve upon! But having paid full price for Halide before the subscription era, I have no idea what I’m subscribing for now.

Scammers

The AppStore page is misleading! The app is not free, but they let you believe that and download it and then you CAN’T DO ANYTHING IN THE DOWNLOADED APP UNLESS YOU PAY. For me that’s a scam, because they trick you to make a worthless download. What about people that are paying for data, you clowns?

Shameful trial scam

I wanted to try out the app and went to accept the free 7 day trial before they actually charged my account. When you do the pre payment to accept the charges for after the trial period they charged me for a whole year. I made two refund request and both were denied. AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. What does this say about the developers that would use these shameful tactics?

Greedy

Another developer got greedy. Purchased the app a long time ago and now I’m forced to pay again for more updates.

Gimmick

It’s a complete gimmick. Don’t waste your money. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the default camera app. If you don’t want any post-processing, go into the default camera settings and enable RAW. Apple should honestly remove these stupid third-party camera apps asking for money advertising features that are already available.

Can’t try without authorising payment

I was unable to try this app as it required payment authorisation upfront. I just want to try it out, and am happy with a 7 day trail that stops working after the trial ends, but I don’t want to authorise payment before I’ve even seen what it does! Feels a bit scammy in the hope you’ll forget to cancel.

Great however

Great app however I find it hard to navigate and can’t find my settings on the app at all, and it would be nice if they had as well as monthly and yearly subscription if additionally they had a lifetime option. For those who want to pay one time

Quick question

Is the one off payment like your last promise of one off payment? I remember a few years ago when I did the one off payment and once a new update came out , a new payment was required …. Not exactly a one off payment is it ?? So how about this time ? Is it actually a one off payment or just fluff again ?
