Handy CookBook FAQ
Is Handy CookBook free?
Handy CookBook is not free (it costs 1.99), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Handy CookBook legit?
🤔 The Handy CookBook app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This app was great, I’ve used it since version 1.0 I think. With iOS 13 onwards it won’t even open… and I now have no way to recover my recipes from a decade of professional kitchen work.
Such a disappointment to lose recipes I’ve picked up from people like Gordon Ramsey, Pierre Kaufman, and Marco Pierre White firsthand.
======= Original Review ======
As a chef I love to have a recipe book always to hand. And have been looking for an easy to use app since I got my iPhone last year. This 1 really does the trick
My only complaint would be I'd like it to deal with larger numbers of servings (some of my recipes start at 40-50 people!) and that I need a way to back this up, I'd hate to think of the hours I'd lose (since I've copied all my cookbooks into it!!)
Thanks again for a brilliant and simple app!
What a welcome relief!
I have been so concerned that apple kept telling me that this app will not work with future iOS updates that I have hung on to an iPad that is too old for anything newer than iOS 9.something just to ensure access to this app (and one other from elsewhere but that's nothing to do with cooking).
I'm really happy to see that it has now been updated and I'm now off to tell the friends to whom I recommended this app a long time ago.
Thank you for keeping this current.
Great app
I wanted somewhere to keep my favourite recipes not get more and this does that. It is easy to add new recipes either manually or by copying and pasting.
I would love it to sync between my iPhone and iPad automatically so I always have recipes when I'm out.
Easy to email a recipe to a friend as well.
Great way to store your recipes!
This is an excellent app. The recipe "cards" are really well laid out & look very professional. Being able to uplaod a photo either from your own collection or from a web search is brilliant (I always hate following recipes without a photo!). Completing the records is a lengthy process but the results are well worth it.
I can recommend this app enough!
Excellent
This is a great little app for keeping all your recipes together in one place. The only thing that could be in proved is a quicker way to add ingredients at the moment u have to add each one separately and when u are copying a recipe from a web site it take ages! Would be a lot better is you could copy and paste altogether.
Love the way u can link to your PC, makes adding recipes really easy. Don't bother trying any other recipe app this one has the lot!!
Can't understand why this only has three stars. Someone previously mentions adding a meal planner but that's not the point of this app, we just want something that will store our recipes quickly easily and presented ins nice way, which is exactly what this does!
Love the update ❤ you listened to what we wanted, thank you! now does everything I need it to, never crashes or loses recipes like other apps I have tried. Get it you won't be disappointed you now don't have to add all recipes separately so copying a recipe from a recipe is really quick. 5star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

App wont connect to cookbook server and it's going to take ages to add al my fav' receipies . Will give it a week to connect before I delete

Love it on my ipod touch have lots of recipes now, would be even better if on iPad !!
Cooking Momma
Store my favourite recipes in one handy location? Love it. Would be even better if I could have my own categories (for jam and cordial recipes) and if it stayed open on the page I was editing whilst flicking backwards and forwards on my phone. Still love it though.
So far so good
The only thing I could think off that is missing is the daily/weekly meal planner.
Can this be included please in the next upgrade.
Thank you
Love it!
After testing all the recipe apps here, I finally decided on this one. I just wanted an app that would allow me to easily upload my fave recipes, add photos and was a dream to use. It's very well made and has a nice looking interface.
The only things I'd add was a way to back up my recipes somewhere for added security and ability to add notes to a recipe. I add my notes in the prep section at the moment, so it's not a big issue.
It still gets a 5 from me! :-)
*Updated to say that the back up feature has been added and I love this app even more now. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks for listening!!*
