Description
HCAD’s property records must match the name and address on the driver’s license. It may take up to 90 days for HCAD to be notified of recent sales. HCAD's Information and Exemption app allows a property owner to access key information about HCAD including customer service numbers and address. The app allows a residential property owner to submit a residence homestead exemption application by providing images of the front and back of their driver's license as well as check the status of the application.
In addition, the property owner can also lookup their iFile number if lost by scanning their driver's license and they can also report property damage caused by natural disasters (In case of any ongoing or recent natural calamity).

Many technical problems
Many functions will result in error messages. Also, the screen is blacked out when you try to take a photo. So it is impossible to file an exemption or changing name on an account, as the app is designed for.
License scanner doesn’t work
Half the screen is blacked out when I try to scan the back of my license and the orientation of the camera is not intuitive. I have not been able to scan successfully. This is a worthless feature until it is fixed.
Bad barcode scanner
Trying to lookup ifile number and the screen where it asks you to scan the barcode is half blacked out and you can’t scan anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times and it’s still not working. No other way, as far as I can tell, to find this information.
Horrible App
Would rate zero stars if I could. Unable to take picture of back of license due to issues with the app and now I can’t file my exemption until they figure out how to fix it.
Ownership % can’t change
Does not allow to change the ownership %., when i click on the 100%, it does nothing
Problems with camera
It’s impossible to take a photo of the back of your license on the iPhone with this app. Can’t proceed with filing an exemption.
No more government time wasted
This would normally be a wasted day downtown. This was dumb easy
