I use this app to track the aurora in Montana. It works well, is intuitive, and has decent notifications. My only complaint is that it only lets you upload pictures of the aurora in the moment. I took a bunch of great photos and tried uploading them the next morning and it wouldn’t let me “Aurora not active in you area error message. It would be nice to be able to upload a photo after the fact and specify the date, time, location that you took it!
So I absolutely love this app but there is one major thing that really grinds my gear. When you first open the app it brings you to the percentage of likely seeing the Aurora along with the aurora strength. It would still be nice to even see if the possibility is zero and the aurora strength despite it being high or low. There has only been two occasions where those two aspects of the app have actually had data on them. For example I use the aurora pro app as well, and if there is no chance of seeing the Aurora at that time it will say 0%. I like this app better because it gives you way more information than the Aurora Pro app that I also use and that would literally be the only thing I would recommend adding to this app. When the Aurora Pro app even says one or 2% there have been times that I have seen the aurora. And when I log into this app it doesn’t say anything. It just has a dash across the chance of seeing the Aurora and the aurora strength. And then when you click for more information it doesn’t give you the detail details either it just has that dash where the number should be. Please fix this and I will delete all other apps!!!!
Unfortunately, the app may simply tell you “aurora are rarely seen at your location,” and won’t show any data. Which… is wrong. I’ve seen two incredible 360° aurora shows at lower KPs than this, plus a handful of smaller ones, just this year. Stick to soft serve news, which doesn’t try to force an erroneous interpretation of the data.
It was great app till this recent updates which makes this app unusable.
It says Houston we have a problem. And you do. It’s not working after you said you fixed bugs but might have broken other things
I’m unable to create an account to use the app. I keep receiving an error saying, “Network request failed.”
Please fix this. The app won’t load. It just stays on the black screen with the logo. Please update it!
The map with community sightings is the best feature and isn’t on other apps I’ve seen. One thing that could be helpful is if the location is written in the corner of the moments so you don’t have to keep moving to the map to see if it’s relevant to you.
Do not recommend, confusing and didn’t have info for my area
