Helvault Reviews

SCAM

Daniel Kofman on

I already paid like 8 bucks for this app and now it’s asking for another payment of 10. Absolutely insane and very slimy.

Best MTG Scanner on iOS

SimplyPhy on

While no scanner is perfect, this one is currently the best in my testing for 90s cards. I’ve scanned thousands, and have many thousands more to scan. That said, while good, there are several updates this app could use to be much better. Hoping development continues, dev is very solid. P.s. many of the negative reviews are because the legacy app’s “lifetime” purchase didn’t transfer over to this newer app. While each of those complains are valid, this app is very reasonably priced, and “technically” those complaints are regarding a different app. Just noting.

Worth it

As a legacy user of 4+ years gotta say this app is definitely worth it. Incredibly dedicated developer, great customer service, and obviously passionate fan of Magic. Rebuying the card scanner is really a small price to pay for the amount of work that goes into this app, the dev has worked with me directly to fix some bugs that were happening a couple versions of ios prior. I was worried I would have to change to a new app, but he managed to fix my issue in about a week.

Lacks organizational features

Ruskiy Vadik on

Overall, this is a decent app at a reasonable price. I have not had issues with updates that others claim to have (the lifetime purchase not carrying over). However, my gripe is with seemingly basic features. For example: You can NOT move cards between binders easily and in-bulk. As of Feb. 3rd, 2024, the only way it seems you can move a card from one binder to another, is to add a copy to the new binder. Then, go and delete the original. This makes no sense, and is incredibly time consuming. There’s also a bug: when you leave the app, sometimes the gear icon (which has the settings to rename a binder) just disappears. You must restart the app or switch to another and come back, to restore it. Again, this app is about saving time. This sort of stuff should not be plaguing it.

The best out there.

While there are a few things I would change about this if I could it is still the best I’ve found by far. The card recognition is at least four steps ahead of its closest competitor. I’ve downloaded ever app available and paid the subscription fee but this one has out shown them all. I wish there were a few tweaks like a wishlist section and a subcategory to keep binders and decks of different crypts separate but over all it gets an A+ from me!

Good but…

TheProfessor234 on

The app is almost great. A few things just fall short. The scanner doesn’t work as well as other scanning tools. Black cards hardly ever scan in any decent amount of time. Any mdfc cards won’t scan unless you put your finger over the triangle. Sideways cards like battles won’t scan even if you do that. In short the app is good, but if the scanner won’t scan everything then what’s the point? Especially when the search function is clunky if you can’t get a card to scan. If they fix the scanner, everything else is great. The problem is the scanner is the only reason I looked for this app in the first place. Needs some work.

Purchased want restore

Bought this app and now the updates want me to repurchase. Be careful if you buy in time the app could be update and you purchase will be for a different version.

What does “lifetime access” mean?

Ringolover5 on

United States

As others, I’m highly disappointed in the “lifetime access” I already paid for, yet you want me to pay for it again with this new version? If you only meant “lifetime of this version of the app” then that’s how it should’ve been sold. “Lifetime access” to me means as long as the app is around, updated versions and all. If you want to charge everyone again for a new version, don’t sell it to us as “lifetime access”. I get that companies don’t always give away new versions of software/apps just because a user bought an older version, but those companies never said I’d have lifetime access when I bought it. I knew I was buying just that version. Very scammy.

Great app! Could benefit from a few small tweaks!!

Victor- Thanks for what you are providing! I love this app. I’d like you to consider modifying the add a card feature so I can input both standard & and foil simultaneously. It’s time consuming to do them individually and I think it would honestly be a small code mod. Second, please add a feature that allows me to add a Precon deck all at once!! We already know the contents of them and a full 100 card inject at once would be awesome. I have a few other suggestions, but overall it’s a great app!
