i love the design of this app but the lockscreen widgets are non existent. i tap to add them and it just goes blank and doesn’t display anything.
When I downloaded the free trial and tried to use the weather map, I thought it was limited to when you purchase the subscription. When I purchased the subscription, the weather map was still incomplete and not working. I tried to notify the App Store regarding this flaw but they failed to care for this matter. In addition, this is not an app that will allow you to receive a refund. With that said, DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK. For now, it needs a lot of improvement.
It’s a good app. Nice graphics. Not as much configurability as Carrot (which is my preference). Kind of like a really nice weather starter app if you want details and color but don’t want to play in the configs. Would give another star if the animated map gets fixed (unusable currently — it is not showing a land map beneath the weather conditions. Just shows clouds over a white layer background).
I been using this app since the early days and I must say it have grown allot and as things has changed. Great app always tells me the weather when I need it always consistent and beautiful gui.
Excellent information on finding stores and internet providers
I paid for the yearly membership only for it to not work. I’ve reached out to the app for help three times with no response. They haven’t responded to me but had no problem taking my money. Really disappointed as I loved this app until then.
No maps
I am a lifetime purchaser of this app because I am hopeful the continued development will render a better product, because right now I can’t recommend it. Most of what intrigued me about Hey Weather was the live activities and Dynamic Island support. Both of those are inconsistent at best and even when they work are ugly and unintuitive. The developers need to copy the look of an app like Mercury Weather with the Dynamic Island and live activity look/feel of Carrot Weather. Right now the map doesn’t work for me because I block a lot of Google spam/tracking and they decided to go with Google Maps, instead of Apple Maps, with no ability to change it. Their privacy policy is not even a privacy policy. There are fully featured weather apps like Hey Weather that do not collect data AND are clear about what they collect and why in the privacy policy. There is no such transparency. Check the privacy policy page for yourself via the App Store link or in-app link.
Over a year later and I’m still desperately looking for a replacement for DarkSky. Really hoped this would be the one, but the map radar function was kludgy and would not load fully, even on the latest iPhone and iOS. The layout of the other sections was nice, but the lack of smooth radar maps makes it a no go.
