This is a highly polished app that works beautifully. The content is polished and highly professional, and very timely (excuse the pun). My only wish is that the clock display might be more configurable so that for instance you could choose the clock/watch face. So for instance a Speedy Mk40 instead of the HODINKEE LE, or a Rolex or some other? Thanks to the developers and content providers for their gear work.
I'm not getting anything here I can’t already access through the website, so this was deleted within minutes of being downloaded. Watchville was a service to the community of watch collectors - this app is not!
Think beyond quarterly traffic figures, ad revenue, and endless growth. Every other post on Hodinkee is sponsored content.
Hi HODINKEE, As a WIS of many sorts, a go to hub for news and articles pertaining to horology without too much commercial bias was once accessible via WatchVille. Acquiring this and only delivering your own proprietary articles feels very anti-competitive and potentially a one way street towards losing membership and the community. You are indirectly alienating people who prefer a wider spectrum view of their hobby. I do like HODINKEE articles but sometimes I also want a different coverage and flavour of view. You do not need to completely corner the media market pertaining to wrist watches, to be honest you have probably succeeded to this for a vast majority but what you do over time is a zero sum game. You may devise your own long death. Please reconsider opening up HODINKEE to a neutral wider media hub. Your fans will thank you.
