EDIT: I was on wifi, no VPN, and had a solid internet connection. Also what? An app that is used underground to make payments for a subway needs impeccable internet to even open the app? Did you even think through that response? Downloaded the app, opened it, and it took literally 45 seconds to get past the preload screen. Then clicking anything, including ticket purchase, took at least 20 seconds. I’m not dealing with this. Maybe the app works well and it would have been useful, but I’m not going to find out. I seriously doubt that I would have dealt with anything but a buggy, stressful app, which is why I uninstalled this app 10 minutes after downloading it.

The good - It gives accurate routes to destinations. The bad - I made a purchase online, when I received my order number and went to go redeem it in the app, it said that both my email and my order number were incorrect. When trying to contact customer service you get put through a loop of automated messages until a dead end. If you try to save the receipt to your desktop, it’ll save as a blank page. You have to order a ticket in person at a metro station. Customer service non-existent.

It took a bit of effort to get the tickets I purchased on the website to show up on the app. Then, When I arrived at the metro ticket machine, I hit redeem voucher on the app and nothing opened. From the App I could see an order number but not a ticket number. I entered the order number at the ticket machine but could not get a ticket. I had to find my email and scroll through that to find the tiny ticket number. Then I was able to get my tickets. I also purchased monjuic cable car tickets on the website and again had to use my email rather than the app to redeem the voucher. We ended up walking down the mountain instead of taking the cable car so I wasted money buying a round trip ticket. My overall experience is that the website was ok but the only helpful thing on the app was a map.

Bought it before I landed. You can’t redeem it at the airport so you can’t use it to get to your hotel. I had to pay for that bus ticket. Went to the metro station the next day to redeem it and when I tried to get on a bus it didn’t work. Tried it at the metro and it didn’t work, had to pay for that ticket to and from. No place to exchange it was open on Sunday so I had to pay for another metro ticket to and from. Finally found a place after 3 days to exchange it for a working ticket. Also, it doesn’t work on yellow bus lines, only the red. If you are only going to use the red bus line and metro then it is probably worth buying at the ticket station when you get there.

I bought tickets but I can’t download them to the app

Wow, just wow. Can’t log in on my phone…it’s asking me to Re authenticate but doesn’t offer any fields to type in. Maybe it doesn’t like that I also have the TMB app on my phone? Pretty confusing. Hope the bus tour is easier to to use IRL than the app is!

I purchased the Barcelona 5 day pass and after a few trips it stopped working on the first day. I then bought a 3 day pass and it too stopped working. Customer service said that even though the cards didn’t work I wasn’t entitled to a refund in any way. Horrible experience. Save your money and time
